Ranchi University was established on July 12, 1960. Being placed in a predominantly tribal area, the university has effectively lived up to the expectancies and aspirations of the people in its fifty years of existence. And it keeps to achieve this in spite of being subjected to trifurcation: first in 1992 when Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh was carved out; second, in January 2009 when Nilambar Pitamber University, Medninagar, was created; and; third, in August 2009 when Kolhan University, Chaibasa, was created. Today its territorial jurisdiction covers 5 districts. Despite so many divisions, Ranchi University keeps playing the main role in offering higher education in the state. CUET PG 2024 exam from March 11, 2024. CAT 2023 exam is scheduled to be held on November 26, 2023. Ranchi University PhD admissions are ongoing. The last date to apply is November 07, 2023. Applicants can download the application form till November 04 through the official website. The entrance exam for the same will be held on December 24, 2023.

Ranchi University Admission

Ranchi University admission 2024 is conducted both online and offline. The university gives admission both on the idea of a valid score in a course-specific entrance examination and based on a valid score in the last qualifying examination. The information for admission is as follows:

• B. Tech admission is primarily based on JEE Main/ Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination (JEECE) score. 
• For MBBS/ BDS, eligible applicants need to get a valid score in the NEET UG score.
• For different UG courses, admission takes place on the idea of merit scores.
• For admission to M.Tech, a valid score in GATE and overall performance in CCMT Counselling is considered.
• For admission to MBA, a candidate needs to appear for CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA.
• Admission to MD and MS programs is through NEET PG score.
• For the remaining PG programs, admission is granted on the idea of merit scores.
• For Ph.D. admission, applicants need to have a legitimate score in the university-conducted entrance examination and counseling.
