SKIMS was set up in the year 1982 and is the largest medical institution in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. It is recognised by the UGC and was granted a ‘Deemed to be University’ status. Admission to its courses is based on the rank secured by the candidate in the entrance exams. The college considers NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS & JKBOPEE Exams for admission to various UG, PG, diploma & doctorate courses.

SKIMS is approved by the Medical Council of India and the institute provides various UG, PG, Doctoral, Post-Doctoral, and Diploma courses across various domains of Nursing and Medical Sciences. SKIMS Admission

Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences [SKIMS], Srinagar admission 2022 are in process. To apply for admission candidates have to visit the official website of the institute. Select the admission from academics tab and click on the desired course link, download the form & fill up the credentials and submit it to the college office. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. The college considers NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS & JKBOPEE Entrance Exams for admission to various UG, PG, diploma & doctorate courses.

SKIMS Eligibility Criteria

SKIMS has set certain eligibility standards to be fulfilled by the candidates in order to get the admission in various courses. Some courses with their eligibility criteria are mentioned below

M.B.B.S Eligibility Criteria

• Passed the 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• The candidates must have a valid score in NEET UG.

M.S Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed M.B.B.S from a recognised university.
• Candidates must have a valid score in NEET PG.

PhD Eligibility Criteria

•  Candidates must have a Master’s degree or a professional degree in the same or allied subjects with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
• Admission is done on the basis of UGC-NET/ University Entrance Exam, followed by a Personal Interview.

The number of seats available, difficulty level of the exam, number of applicants, etc are the factors that determine the cutoffs.
