Entrance Exams & Admissions :
This college used to conduct its own admission round before 2015 but now this college participates in general admission rounds. You have to take either JEE MAINS or MHT-CET to get admission into this During my admission, there was just one exam JEE MAIN so I got admission through JEE mains only And percentile score is used here as criteria for cut-off. Generally cut-off for this college is very high as compared to other Mumbai-University affiliated colleges. For production engineering its average 75 percentile or more
Fees & Scholarships :
In terms of fees, it is costlier college to study. The annual fee is almost INR 1.5L But all government and Mumbai University scholarships you get also for the Jain and Gujarati Minority scholarship are available Loans can be taken for educations which are easily available nowadays (recommended is ICICI Bank cause 3 of my friends have taken and its the cheapest ROI they found)
Academics & Faculty :
This college is 6-day working college Class timings are from around 7 AM TO 2 PM Faculty is one of the best in the city.They have modern technology infrastructure with air-conditioned classrooms. Advanced software and tools are available. They have good connections with industries as college focuses on the industry-friendly environment. Professionalism in students is one quality, which lacks in most of the Indian colleges, can be seen here. You get a good chunk of people, mostly of medium to the rich economic background, interested in this field. So everything you do is costlier in terms of money but definitely worth quality wise
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
They have common hostels for all SVKM institutes (which is parent trust) and hostel fee is almost not bearable unless you are very rich. It cost 3 L or more for hostel as they have air-conditioned rooms in hostels too You will get cheap PG near kandivali malad area which is 10 km from college Location ( connected with western railway) travel time upto 1 hr Classrooms are air conditioned and all the labs and everything are also air-conditioned One of the best libraries in Mumbai is here College has WiFi availability for students but its so restricted that its almost useless They dont have individual sports ground for college but svkm has other grounds and college festival for sports and cultural activities organizes events at different venues in mumbai
Clubs & Associations :
There are almost 20 different students chapter amongst 12 branches including NSS committee and the annual festival committee called TRINITY. Thet E-Cell, literature clubs, placement cell also. The main festival of college is TRINITY which is socio-cultural, sports and Technical festival. The main attraction of the festival is the concert where big Bollywood stars perform.(eg. Farhan Akhtar, Sunidhi Chauhan etc) Overall crowd is good. As college comes under minority quota 85% reservation is for linguistics minority for Gujrathi speaking people. Principal and other higher authorities are student friendly and have active involvements in governments new initiatives.
