INFRASTRUCTURE & OTHER FACILITIES

LECTURE HALLS:

Collaborative learning environment, simple, friendly and non-intimidating classroom technology inspires the presenters who rely on improvisation, spontaneity and audience participation. The college focuses on emerging technologies in teaching and learning practices to improve students’ understanding and learning aptitude. Teaching through smart classroom is one of our comprehensive strategies to achieve this goal. Our smart classroom is a mixture of state-of-the-art hardware, syllabus-compliant and multimedia-based interactive content. These changes in the teaching and learning process enhance the students who are more actively engaged in the classroom environment.

LABORATORIES:

College has excellent laboratory infrastructural facilities and the students can get first-hand experience as they are trained in laboratories to enhance their practical skills. College has modern state-of-the-art language lab to develop the communication and managerial skills of its students.

CENTRAL LIBRARY:

The Central Library is the significant feature of the college. It is constructed in the campus with a total built up area of 4,454 square meters at the cost of Rs 4.8 crores with all modern facilities. To the conventional library facilities with 400 seating capacity, digital library, discussion rooms, internet browsing centre and video conferencing hall with 120 seating capacity are added. At present the college library has about 42,278 volumes with 13,325 titles, and subscribes e-Journals through AICTE -- 121 Journals & 34 Magazines. It is being developed to meet the needs of the post graduate and doctoral candidates.

The library has over 4209 volumes and 3150 titles in the reference section that supports the activities of the research and development wing of the college. Digital Library with media server- 30 systems and Internet facility is available in the library with 70 systems. The college library is fully automated. The software is developed by the students of this college. The main features of the library software are Bar code based circulation system, web based public on line catalogue, Provision for serials control and stock verification etc.

COMPUTER LABS:

Apart from the computing and browsing facilities now available in the departments, the central library has computer center with 70 terminals that provide browsing facilities for common use of all staff and students. The center remains open till 7:00 PM in the evening on all working days. The centre provides the latest state-of-art computer and browsing facilities. The college is connected to BSNL Broadband with 20 Mbps link and NETLINK with 2 MBPS link.

BOYS HOSTEL:

Boys Hostel is established in the year 2006 to provide accommodation and mess facilities to students of Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering.

The hostel has 72 rooms spreading in three floors and accommodates about 200 students. Each room is attached with separate bathroom and water facility. The rooms are furnished with cots, fans, tables, chairs, and shelves with iron doors. Washbasin with mirror and mosquito nets to window frames are also furnished. Hygienic drinking water is available to the inmates of the hostel. Kitchen with modern cocking facilities and spacious dining hall is provided for inmates. Common Telephone, Reading room, satellite T.V and Drawing practice room, indoor sport facilities are provided to the hostel inmates. A/c, Non A/c Guest rooms for College Guests/visitors and Parent's room for visiting parents are available in the hostel. Internet facility, solar heating systems are planned in this academic year. Co-operative store sports and medical facilities to the inmates are available in the college campus. A 24-hour security is available to the inmates of the hostel to protect the hostel property and to report incidents that require immediate attention to authorities. Inmates of the hostel select a mess committee from among themselves to run the mess and help in hostel administration. A resident warden stays during nighttime's and checks the attendance of the inmates after 9 pm every day.

GIRLS HOSTELS:

Girls Hostel is established in the year 2002 to provide accommodation and mess facilities to students of Sir C.R.Reddy College of Engineering.

The hostel has 72 rooms spreading in two floors and accommodates about 250 students. Each room is attached with separate bathroom and water facility. The rooms are furnished with cots, fans tables, chairs, and shelves with iron doors. Washbasin with mirror and mosquito nets to window frames are also furnished. Hygienic drinking water is available to the inmates of the hostel. Kitchen with modern cocking facilities and spacious dining hall is provided for inmates. Common Telephone, Reading room, satellite T.V and, indoor sport facilities are provided to the hostel inmates. Non A/c Guest rooms for College Guests/visitors are available in the hostel. Solar heating systems are planned in this academic year. Co-operative store sports and medical facilities to the inmates are available in the college campus. A 24-hour security is available to the inmates of the hostel to protect the hostel property and to report incidents that require immediate attention to authorities. Inmates of the hostel select a mess committee from among themselves to run the mess and help in hostel administration. AUDITORIUMS:

A well furnished centrally air conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 504, with ultra modern facilities like hands free LCD Projector, Audio Visual equipment etc is housed in a Built up Space of 699.06 Sq Mts with an investment of Rs. 2.2 Crores, to conduct academic programs like seminars, workshops, symposiums, Guest Lectures etc.

GYMNASIUM:

Sports facilities are provided with adequate space transformed to play fields and courts. Ultra Modern Gym caters to the fitness and logical quotient of the students as well as staff. Many sources cite mental and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. To stay healthy it's important to participate in physical activity. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three sub-sections, which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Realizing the significance of this vital area, the college has invested an amount of Rs. 1.46 crores on Ultra Modern Gym that comprises of a plinth area of 2, 190 Sq.mt. and with the following features.

• Three wooden Shuttle Badminton Courts with a gallery to accommodate 300 spectators is provided with world class standards.

• One squash court of international class is also provided as Squash is characterized as a "high-impact" exercise for joints, notably the knees.

• Two Modern Gymnasiums are earmarked separately for boys and girls.

• Six Table Tennis Courts add charm to the Gym.

• Two Billiards Tables.

• Two Yoga Halls and Two Meditation Halls.

• Well furnished dormitory accommodates 100 people.

OUTDOOR SPORTS FACILITIES:

The college is encouraging the outdoor sports activities amongst the students by providing the infrastructure, coaching facilities, and attendance concession. Large playing fields support a wide variety of games, such as Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Hockey and Tennis. Our Outdoor facilities include a court for Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, and Tennis.

HEALTH CARE CENTER:

The administrators of the college are conscious of the need for medical help in times of emergency. A dispensary is set up with a full time doctor and Nurse to attend to the students and staff for minor health problems and quick consultancy. In case of emergency they provide First aid and refer the patient to Govt. hospital/ASRAM/private hospitals immediately.Moreover, there are many multispecialty hospitals situated at 3 to 5 k.m distance. Emergency Ambulance 108 facility is available all the 24 hours in the town which can reach the campus within 5 minutes. College has tie up with Ambulance services in Eluru for Emergency services. Omni Van with Driver is available for 24/7 medical support to the students in the campus and inmates in the hostels.

CANTEEN:

A fully furnished Canteen with an area of 36.83 X 15.87 mts area caters the needs of all students and staff. It provides good quality of food. The canteen offers food at reasonable price. This facility starts at morning 8'0 clock and remains open till the college is closed. It is very much comfortable and the services are utilized more during the break period and lunch time. The food is prepared hygienically with the help of Modern Steam Based Cooking System. It serves best to the students.

• Canteen with modern kitchen equipment (steam) to provide nutritious and Hygienic food items on subsidized rates is available.

A branch of Andhra Bank is situated within the campus with a facility to students and staff members for maintaining different accounts like Saving Bank, Fixed Deposit, Recurring Deposit etc. This fully computerized bank offers world-class services and gives the students and people in campus an ease to handle their money. The ATM card facility is a boon to the students and faculty.
