Placements & Internships : I did one internship in inspira technologies, gadag and it was on creo design software. TCS, INFOSYS, PINCLICK, SANKALP SEMICONDUCTORS and many more companies hires students but most of them are related to IT and sales, mechanical students gets rare opportunities. average salary figures various from 2lac per annum to 4lac per annum and highest salary figures occurs in the range of 6-8lac per annum. only 30-40% of a batch gets placed. Alumni network is very good and college arranges alumni gathering for every 2-3 years and also has a alumni commetee.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria was to have cleared PUC 2nd year in science. Through karnataka common entrance test (KCET) I got govt. seat in my engineering college. various colleges have different cutoffs for mechanical engineering according to college standards, my ranking was 49850 yet i got admission because of 371(j) reservation in 2015.

Fees & Scholarships : Since mine was govt. seat so in 2015 it was 50000 INR. but its increased for current batches and management seats have different fee structure for different branches, in 2015 mechanical engg management seat had 1,20,000 fees per year. yes, one such exists named as teachers fund scholarship to help students who are bright in academics but were less finanically fortunate. every year on an average more than 20 students gets this scholarship. i didn't took education loan but some of my classmates did and usually they all took loan from state bank of india.

Academics & Faculty : college starts at 9:30am and ends at 5:30pm ( usually from 2:30pm we had practicals so ending time varies according to branch and semisters like 7th sem students don't have afternoon classes and saturday had training and placement). Quality and method of teaching is quite average when one considers overall, i have seen best proffesors and also the worst in my branch. Projects were quite good but the initial concepts of projects depends on students but later as it progresses most teachers helps students to make that project come to reality. first two internals of every semister are usually hard which inturn helps students in exams and the third one used to be easy to help students get more internal marks.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Every semister had different hostels but were really close to one another so that seniors and juniors can get to know each other well, college had both boys and girls hostel and both were highly secured. Hostels were clean and had Wi-Fi facility ( entire campus had Wi-Fi). Hostel fee was 30000 per year and mess fee was 15000 per year. since the college is located at remote place we didn't had option of PGs unless we go to lakshmeshwar (5km from college) where the PGs are available. College had canteen which served delicious food but was bit costly when compared to mess food. Quality of classrooms, labs, libraries and dining halls were excellent. We had digital library which had very fast internet connection for academic purposes. our college has attractive infrastructure ( trees surrounding grounds, hostel and the road in between in short theview was very poetic beauty).

Clubs & Associations : I was a member of IPSIC club of college which was to support innovative ideas and help them to make it a reality. Ganesh festival, New year eve had special place in the heart of college management. For cultural programmes there was special student body which took care of it.  Sports included cricket, football, kabaddi, throwball, volleyball, basketball and many more. i was a part of college cricket team for 2 years. management was very sport supportive. In general life in this college was one to be remebered for long time as i got another family there in the name of friends.

Placements & Internships : I haven't got any opportunity to do internships and i am not getting any stipends but I am in a hope to do the same. Service companies like TCS, Online instruments, Sriram Transportation etc hire students. Core companies like Sankalp semiconductors etc also hire students. The average salary figure is Rs 2lacs/annum and the highest salary figure to a student in a year 2016 is Rs 3.5lacs/annum. Since our college is located in a remote area many of the students are from rural background and they will not have much exposure to present technology and industry situations. So students lag in getting placed and companies will not take intrest to come to college. Alumni team is taking a great effort to up bring the talents of the students They are helping students to get exposed to the current industrial scenario. Alumni have put up a PICOSO lab to get a complete knowledge and handsome experience to current technologies like Arduino, Rasberry-pi etc. at Smt Kamala and Sri Venkappa Magadi College of Engineering and Technology, [SKSVMACET] Gadag

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Aspirants belonging to caste other than Scheduled caste(SC) / Scheduled tribes(ST) are expected to have a min percentage of 55% in the exam conducted by Karnataka PUC board with no backlogs. Aspirants who belong to SC/ST should have a min percentage of 40% in the exam conducted by Karnataka PUC board with no backlogs. Aspirants can also be admitted to the institution by the ranking obtained by him/her in Karnataka CET board. I had taken up exam conducted by Karnataka CET board and had got a ranking of 35565. The typical cutoff ranking varies year to year and it also varies from branch to branch. Cutoff ranking of the year 2016 in different branches like for Mechanical engineering- 28675, Civil engineering- 32674, EC engineering- 43629, EE engineering-85963, CS engineering- 38742 and IS engineering- 98452.

Fees & Scholarships : Since I had choosen the college based on my KCET ranking, I pay fees specified by KCET board. I have been paying a sum of Rs 52065/year at Smt Kamala and Sri Venkappa MAgadi College of Engineering and Technology, [SKSVMACET] Gadag. Management quota students will have a different fee structure and it also varies from branch to branch. Karnataka government announces a scholarship called as 'VIDYASIRI' every year and majority of students get it. Other scholarship options are there like JSW scholarship, MUMA scholarship for Minority students, Sonata scholarship for girls etc are also available. Loans facility is much needed here since many students are from rural and poor background.

Academics & Faculty : Class timings are from 9.30am to 5.30pm at Smt Kamala and Sri Venkappa Magadi College of Engineering and Technology, [SKSVMACET] Gadag Each class will have a duration of 1hr. Assignments are given when the need arises. There will be 3 internals and best of 2 is selected to give internal marks. Judging the quality of teaching depends on the student. To me, my branch has an average teaching quality but teachers take a great care to make us understand the topics. I believe that no college is perfect. So according to me overall experience in college is average type.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is one girls hostel and one boys hostel at Smt Kamala and Sri Venkappa Magadi College of Engineering and Technology, [SKSVMACET] Gadag. Hostel fee per month is 4000 INR. Our college is 4kms away from the town called laxmeshwar and there are not many facilities to stay in PG's. Food is of average quality and it costs around 100 rupees including Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The quality of classrooms and labs are good, the library needs a good infrastructure and many more books, WIFI is available in major points of the campus. Boys and girls hostel have a complete WIFI connection.

Clubs & Associations : There are no students societies or clubs etc and forming them is strictly prohibited at Smt Kamala and Sri Venkappa Magadi College of Engineering and Technology, [SKSVMACET] Gadag. However we have a club called as LEAD and every branch in college have their own Associations. » Generally, the life in college is boring since I don't get much entertainment due to some disciplinary rules. Many a times watching movies in laptop is a big entertainment.
