Placements & Internships :
Placement support is not that great. There has not been any campus hiring in recent years. Students who had been placed before were hired into TCS, Infosys. The average package is around 1.8lac/ annum. Students usually have to go for off-campus placement drives or job fairs to find jobs, and they are pretty much on their own if they want to do internships or any training during summer. The department will notify students if there are any companies coming for hiring off-campus. Placement cell is not very helpful. Students should receive more help from placements and training cell as there are not any significant efforts taken to prepare students for aptitude and interviews.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The admission procedure for the course is quite simple. There is no entrance examination as such for this course. Class 12 marks are considered for admissions. Merit list is displayed and admissions are given accordingly. Applicants have to fill the application form and pay the fees.
Fees & Scholarships :
The course fee is comparatively cheaper. It ranges around 15-17k/year. If one cannot afford it, there is an option to pay the fees it in installments. There aren't any major scholarships given out but students are notified about the scholarships given out by the government and other bodies and are encouraged to apply if they fit the criteria. Loans are not needed since the fees are not that high and there is an option to pay it in installments.
Academics & Faculty :
There is practical lab work four times a week and there are four lectures every day. The college timing is from 11 am to 5 pm. 11 to 2 or 2 to 5 depending upon the time table one has i.e. lectures and practical lab work. For the first year in addition to programming languages, there are statistics and math. For the second year, in addition to programming languages and electronics, there is environmental science, math, and English. Students need to make a project for an environmental science class. It is a group project and a list of project topics is given by the instructor. For the third year, students have to create their final year project and are free to choose the topic. Assignments are based on the practical work students do in the lab.
The faculty is okay. Senior teachers are good. The curriculum needs to be updated. Even the assignments are from years ago. As computer science is a field that is constantly changing, students need to stay up to date with new technologies so adding that in the syllabus is very essential.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The college campus is small but good. There is a small college canteen. The quality of food is good and it is affordable. The classrooms and labs are well equipped. There is a hostel very to close the college campus which is about a 5-minute walk away.
Clubs & Associations :
There are no student clubs or associations. Guest lectures are arranged occasionally. There are cultural and sports programs every year. Along with that, a tech-fest is arranged by students of the computer science department with the help of faculty. It is somewhat okay in terms of college life, as students usually don't have a lot of time to do extracurricular activities. Attendance is very strict.
