Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Eligibility criteria is a 60% score for grade 12 in CBSE, ICSE, or HSC. For IB students minimum of 24 grades is the requirement. For other international students, requirements are checked accordingly by SP Jain as its an international institution for higher learning. SP Jain accepts various entrance exams like SAT, ACT, or SPJET (SP Jain's Entrance Exam). I took the SPJET test. English Language requirements have to be met to get admission and VISAs for different countries. For admission procedure, first application form has to be filled stating all the details and a personal statement on why do you want to study at SP Jain. Next entrance test has to be completed, which will be followed by an interview. The procedure is simple to follow, and so is the application form.
Placements & Internships :
SP Jain has the 2nd highest employment rate and 5th highest median salary for the BBA program in Australia. The average salary is AUD 50000–60000. Top recruiting companies are Walsh Bay Partners, Frost and Sullivan, ING Australia, bdhSterling. The finance, Media and Marketing sectors had the highest placements. SP Jain students take internships every year. As the BBA course is for 4 years, 3 internships can be done before the final placement, which add value. These internships are done in Singapore, Dubai, and Sydney owing to the tri-city nature of the BBA program. These internships add great value for the final placement giving global exposure. Students have got internships using their network and the support of the University. One best way to get internships is while reaching out to industry professionals for projects. Many have got internships this way.
Fees & Scholarships :
SP Jain's BBA costs USD 25,600 a year. Scholarships are available and are dependent on academic performance and the interview. Extracurriculars and sports are looked at while giving scholarships. SP Jain is worth the price with the exposure to 3 different countries and the learnings from the cultural nuances paving the career path.
Academics & Faculty :
SP Jain has a good daily routine. On a regular day, a BBA student would have 2 classes each of 1.5 hours which would be followed by assignments and study, which the student has to do. The faculty of SP Jain is extremely helpful with the course content and are more than happy to help out in any way they can. They are not only knowledgeable in their subject of expertise but also carry immaculate corporate experience enriching the entire learning journey. This makes the teaching real world centric and of high quality, and what we learn and is what is applied later on in jobs. The course is structured is a student-friendly way and the curriculum is constantly updated to make it more relevant to the changing business environment. Students are industry-ready as every subject is taught from a business perspective and in a critical thinking and application format, so students get a closer look at how the industry functions. Semester exams are all applications of the classes, discussions, and projects where the critical thinking and multi-perspective analysis play a major role. When a student is active in classes and participates with complete attention, semester exams are not a tough task. The pass percentage depends on where a student stands after the semester in the relative grading score. So it’s not only on how a student performs but also it’s about how the student has performed relative to other students in the batch.
Clubs & Associations :
SP Jain has some amazing student clubs. A student is free to start their own club as well. SP Jain has student clubs on the campus and even cross-campus. Some of the cross-campus student clubs are Media Club, Marketing & More, GirlUp Sydney, EcoYouth, TAMID, and Auxillium. In these clubs, all the 4 years UG students interact and conduct workshops, events, and competitions. Events are a part of the daily routine as there would be some Global learning activity or industry visit, or a club event every week, making the learning holistic. Besides the club events, there are sports events and cultural celebrations like Chinese New Year, Diwali, Christmas, and many more. Every culture is respected, and the local events are celebrated according to the location of campus. SP Jain’s BBA course is curated to make a student ready for the corporate world after the 4 years, and hence many students stay back in Australia with the post-study work visa rights and work there. Some of the best things about the course are the subjects develop curiosity and make students inquirers and problem solvers. Some subjects like world cultures and sustainability, and CSR add great value to the global exposure while developing the right competencies. Research Projects help us to connect and interact with industry and experts and understand a viewpoint that develops our networking skills.
