The 50-acre campus has a beautiful and serene atmosphere which lightens up the student's mood creating an environment apt for learning. The college has various facilities such as hostel, library, transport, computer labs, canteen, health care, playground and many more. The library has over 35970 books, reference volumes, newspaper facilities, over 100 specialized journals, etc. Apart from these, they have membership in the British Council Library, Anna University Library, INDEST-AICTE Consortium, and more. The computer labs are well equipped with internet facilities to all its systems and the entire campus has a strong Wi-Fi facility. The college has easy access to the nearest railway station and its own bus facility providing ease of transport for its students. The canteen facility at SSIET is operated in a subsidized manner and provides a spot of relaxation for the students in between their tedious schedule.
The college has a separate placement cell that assists the students by involving them in various placement activities. The students eligible for placement are trained and given practical experience in their final semester of study. The main motive of the placement cell is to enhance the student's soft skills, personality development, etc. The training provided by the placement cell includes practice in aptitude tests, group discussions, and a number of mock interviews making it easier for the students attending the placement drive.

The institution admits prospective students based on the merit list published by Anna University and through the management quota. The admission for the management quota students begins only once the merit list is released. Students opting for admission via Anna University should apply for the counseling process by online application and then the students will be assigned a date for counseling with respect to their ranks achieved. In the case of candidates applying for master’s and MBA programs the college requires a valid TANCET and CAT score, where CAT score might be waived by the department of management.
