Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Sairam College, Bangalore, has always maintained the vision of building and nurturing their students as per their individual capabilities, rather than judging them based on their marks.
I got my admission through the Karnataka CET exam. The eligibility criteria was to have 45% marks (Math/Physics and Science) in 10th and 12th/PUC, concerning the CET rank, around 40000 also was a get through.
Placements & Internships :
When it comes to placement, something we all look into, the college provides a decent amount of placement opportunity irrespective of your marks obtained in the semester. The two major companies will always have their eye on the students of Sairam - WIPRO and TCS. Though I must say that, Mechanical core companies that come for interviews are less, so would be for Electrical Core. Computer department and IT aspirants need not worry, you'll get an ample amount of opportunity. (Avg. Salary 3lpa)
One thing that I must highlight here would be the fact that the college will always remain in touch with you even after your graduation, this has personally helped me get in touch with Aluminies to understand the corporate world better.
Fees & Scholarships :
To say the least, the college doesn't have a cut-throat fee. I paid around 3.2 lakh for the entire course duration at Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Bangalore for BE Computer Science and Engineering. this included almost 40,000 for travel for my initial two years of college. Most of my colleagues had taken Education loan so that they can study at their own expense - to pay off the loan once they start working.
Having said this, the college also allows its students to pay the fee in installments (two installments with a gap of three months).
Academics & Faculty :
The last visit to my college saw a couple of remarkable improvements in the learning-teaching methodology. The students now have access to the Innovation Cell, headed by the CEO himself, which helps the students to build their dream projects and also to exhibit their ideas globally.
It's not just the 9am -4pm academics that the main focus is given to but also reminds us why we have taken up engineering and what can we achieve out of it.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The college infrastructure is well maintained and isn't confusing at all. We have one building that lets you know well where you are headed. There is access to WiFi with individual authentication to avoid clogs in the bandwidth.
Hostels and canteens are sparkling clean, and there is a team that makes sure they are kept that way - consisting of faculty and management members.
Clubs & Associations :
The college has a personal interest in Kabbadi and athletics, so if you are fond of it, you know which college to choose. They also run campaigns such as the clean environment, the environmental day, etc.
College is strict when it comes to academic submissions - assignments, projects, etc., We do have an annual day/college day celebration, where you are free to showcase your non-curricular talents. And in a recent update, the college started with DJ nights, in short, you'll get your movie-ish college life experience also.
