Entrance Exams & Admissions : Master of Science (M.Sc.)Admission: Entrance exams, merit-based & direct admission.

Academics & Faculty : Timings and holidays are similar to that of B. tech people. Saturday and Sundays will be holidays but if any one of the week day is declared as a holiday then the corresponding week's Saturday will be a working day. Coming to timings, that will be from 8:45* to 5:15* and even those timings depends on the time table.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Around two weeks ago, I visited the campus for a conference. And when I went there, they were revamping the campus which is already pretty decent. The IBMR campus is located at a serene location, away from the crowd of the city near Chinchwad Railway Station. The campus is not that mesmerizing but functional from all angles. I witnessed proper hygiene in canteens and mess, the library which is digitally automated and hi-tech labs with IBM and SAP software programs installed in them. Moreover, most of the programs ASM organizes happen in the IBMR campus. The college is equipped with Wi-fi and high-speed internet connection. They have big classrooms with projector facility which are properly ventilated, with comfortable seats for students. All in all, the college running most cutting edge PGDM programs has to be advanced in amenities too, which IBMR surely is. You must visit the campus once to see if that suits you. Visuals explain things better.

Placements & Internships : The college has a strong alumni network and an event named TRIBUTE is held every year to honor the alumni. There is a lot of alumni funding for research and infrastructure.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission process is through DOTE and management-cum-merit. There's an entrance test for the students who apply through management which consists of an aptitude test and an interview. The management cutoff was around 190(PCM) when I joined, and it is decided every year relatively.

Placements & Internships : I have interned in Apollo Group of Hospitals and Billroth Hospital during my summer and winter quarter. Mu Sigma, Microsoft, Dove, Saint Gobain, L&T, Philips, Caterpillar are some of the key companies that hire from our campus regularly. 91% or more get placed every academic year and the average salary package is approximately INR 5 lakhs per annum. Placements & Internships : Internship - I haven't done any internship. There are few companies that offer internship through college. This year we had an internship drive, where many companies came to offer internships, but hopefully, they continue this tradition in the coming years. But otherwise, I have seen most of my friends do internships that they had applied outside. But this is not a necessity for a student to get placed. Key companies that hire There are many IT related companies and few core related companies that come to hire each year. Nearly 100+ companies including all the sectors come each year. The roles they offer differs. They hire students for different roles both technical and managerial roles. Salary figures and placement There is assurance of hundred percent 100% placement. But nearly 50% ( this is just my assumption) of the students also choose to go for higher education. However, few of them sit for the placements just to have a backup. As far as the salary figure goes, this year the highest salary offered was Rs 17 lakhs by Amazon. However, not all companies offer such a high salary. The lowest salary figure would be around Rs 3 lakhs. But then again not all companies offer this less a salary. The alumni network, in opinion, is pretty good for a college which is just 17- 18 years old. We often come across students from our college getting admission into one of the top 100 universities all over the world for higher studies. And in the case of management higher education, the students aim to get into top 50 business schools in India.  And as far as the companies that come to hire students, we are often appreciated for the quality of students that they hired the previous year.  I would say, SSN is definitely developing a good alumni network.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : There are 2 U.G. (B.E. and BTech) courses with 8 different branches that SSN offers. You can get admitted for one of those courses in either of the two ways - DOTE or Management. And of course, there is NRI quota as well. To get admission through DOTE, you need to go through Anna University counselling for which you need to fill a separate application form. The Anna University counselling is a huge process where students will be given a date once the counselling starts according to the marks they have scored in their 12th standard. So, on the day of your counselling, if you have seats available in SSN for the particular course that you desire, you can block them. The minimum cutoff for which students usually get admitted through DOTE in SSN varies every year but usually, it is between 195- 198 for General category but again for other categories it differs. For management quota, the students have to fill a separate application form given by SSN ( you can get it from the college or their office in Mylapore, CHENNAI). Once you have filled the form, you will be called for an examination and interview based on your 12th standard cutoffs again. If you have studied in state board, your cutoffs will be taken as it is and if you're a CBSE or ICSC or any other international board student, they will add +5 to your cutoff. The shortlisting based on this again varies each year. Usually, the minimum cutoff is around 192-195 ( after the addition if you are a CBSE or international board student). On the day your counselling for management, you will be asked to give an online examination ( contains mostly aptitude) and an interview. While application, you would have chosen 3 courses in decreasing order of priority!!! Based on this and your score in examination and interview, students will be given admission.  However, you can attend both these options and choose what is best for you, in terms, of course, offered , fees, etc. But the students from DOTE and management will share the same classroom for that particular course.

Placements & Internships : I did my internships at chennai metro railways limited and at ceebros. More than 60 companies hire students from our campus TCS, cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, HCl, real image, Accenture, L&t, penna cements, petrofact, zoho, freshdesk, bosch and many more. Placements for civil engineering, chemical engineering, bio-medical engineering students is lower compared to any other departments. Placements for computer science engineering and IT is at peaks. I think highest salary was offered by real image(Rs 15 lakhs per annum). Average salary will be around (Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum). More 97% students were placed overall in all departments. In my civil engineering batch only 3 out of 70 were able to get a civil engineering jobs remaining almost got into marketing, sales and IT companies. Alumni students help in guiding us in better way. We keep in tough with alumni through LinkedIn.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There more than 8 hostels for students, separate hostel facility for boys and girls. hostels are really good compared to any other colleges in chennai. Hostel fees is around Rs 7000 to Rs 16000 per annum depending upon the rooms but every hostellers have to pay bus fee. In campus is relatively cheaper off campus costs you around Rs 70000 per annum. Food in our college is decent, they charge you Rs 90 per day. Classrooms, Labs, libraries, dining halls are really great. You have wifi connection all around the campus. Our college is rated as the fourth most beautiful colleges in India so no their words are required.

Clubs & Associations : We have Indian concrete institute student chapter, youth red cross, youth blue cross, Ncc, EDC etc. We have technical symposiums for each departments. we have inter-college sports meet in our college during the month august. We celebrate our college cultural in the month of march named instincts. We have full freedom in our college unlike any other colleges. You meet friends from different places. There is so much to enjoy in this campus.

Entrance Exams & Admissions :  You need to have at least 98% to apply for this course (this is through anna university counselling). They take your 12th exam marks. To get through management quota also you need to have 98% in maths, physics and chemistry, you also need to qualify in the entrance test and the interview conducted by the college (only for management quota students). Even the management quota admissions is also based on merit they do not encourage any kind of donations for getting seat. For the year 2016 cutoff for civil engineering admission was 98% , it might even increase in the coming year.

Fees & Scholarships : B.E. /B.Tech : Govt. Quota : for accredited programs (B.E/B.Tech – ECE, CS, EEE, IT) , tuition fee is Rs. 40,000 /- per annum and for non accredited programs, tuition fee is Rs. 32,500 /- per annum. Management Quota: Rs. 62,500/- per year. M.E /M.Tech : Rs. 45,000 /- per year. Scholarships are available for the students who are excellent in acedemics and sports. It is also available for the students who are financially bad. I don't have any idea regarding average number of students who got scholarships overall in all departments. But in my civil engineering batch 8 students have got scholarships. I don't have any idea about the loans.

Academics & Faculty : Monday to friday are working days for students from 8am to 3.30 pm. We have 2 projects in the final years as part of course curriculum. Apart from course curriculum our college encourages students who are interested in research they help us funding. On every monday and fridays we have unit tests. We have one assignment per week on average. Quality of teaching is really good cause we have highly experienced professors. Professors teach us in class rooms through lectures and also through presentation( by showing relevant pics and videos for better understanding). Sometimes teaching will on the field (cause practical knowledge is very important for civil engineers). Students will really enjoy our college a lot. Education system in our college is without pressure.
