Placements & Internships :
I am an upcoming student of the college so I won't be able to answer this yet. But my course structure is designed to have three semesters of regular studies, and the last semester is an internship. Students are supposed to complete one internship after the first year as well, with any social organization.
The college website says that companies like Delloite, Infosys, etc., come for placements, but I am not certain if they hire from this particular course.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
I am a student of the academic year 2021-23. The eligibility criteria for Masters in Arts are a graduation degree in any field with 55% qualifying marks. This year's admission procedure was completely virtual, so I sat through an interview that lasted for 30 minutes. There were two faculty members who asked all sorts of questions related to my studies, experience, interest in the course, etc. The interview was really great. Post that, there was a second interview with the head of the course, and then my admission was finalized. There was no written examination this year, and the typical cutoffs were not mentioned as such. Based on interviews, the admission was finalized, I suppose, and also the qualifying graduation marks play a small role.
P.S- Due to the pandemic, the selection process was a bit different, is what I feel. I have read that St. Joseph's has an entrance exam, but I did not have to sit with it this year.
Fees & Scholarships :
St. Joseph's College, [SJC] Bangalore Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 1.19 Lakh per annum.
Yes, there are a few scholarships available, and loans can be availed if needed, and I suppose the South Indian Bank branch, which is located on the campus, can be approached for the same.
Academics & Faculty :
The class timing is from 7 am to 2 pm. The examination is pretty rigorous. I have not started my classes yet, so I can't write about the experience and method of teaching yet. St. Joseph's is considered one of the best colleges in Bangalore for its faculty and the infrastructure, and affordable fee structure.
