STC, Cochin Admission 2024

The college is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi Open University [MGOU], Kerala. It is a women’s college and established in 1925, and has since, been working towards providing quality education to its students. The college firmly believes in empowerment of women for the growth and development of a nation. Through its aided and self-financed divisions, St. Teresa’s College, [STC] Cochin offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in addition to vocational courses and diplomas at various levels of study. Courses are offered across domains such as Arts, Commerce, Science, Fashion technology and Computer application, to name a few. STC also offers opportunities for research. The college envisions a life-oriented education system through humanizing and liberative processes.

STC, Cochin Diploma Courses Admission 2024

Diploma in Healthcare Assistance is a course offered at the undergraduate level. Post Graduate DIploma [PGD] degrees are offered in 3 different subjects under the domain of Health Sciences, Fashion Technology and Management. Diploma and PGD courses are more vocation based and include theoretical learning as well as adequate practical experiences integrated into the curriculum to make the courses employment-oriented.

STC, Cochin Diploma Courses- Eligibility

Diploma course is for a duration of 1 year and eligibility is the completion of 10+2 level of study in any stream. In case of the PGD in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, the duration is 2 years and 6 months (including 3 months of internship). PGD in Fashion Designing is a 1 year and 6 months (including 2 months of internship and project work) and PGD in Management in Business Analytics is for a duration of 2 years.  At the undergraduate level, the college offers courses such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com and BCA. the college operates under two divisions- the aided wing and the self-financed wing. Although degree programmes offered are more or less common between the two, the subjects offered for specialization differ. Apart from the regular courses, the self-financed division also offers vocational (B.Voc) courses. Following are further details-

The Bachelor’s degree programmes have a course duration of 3 years. The eligibility criteria for most of them is more or less, passing 10+2 examinations from any recognised Board/University but in addition to this, there are some subject criteria for certain specializations. Details are as given below-

MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MA in Journalism and Mass Communication [MJMC], and masters programmes in Fashion Designing and Nutrition are some of the postgraduate programmes available. Again, the specialization subjects that can be opted differ for the M.A and M.Sc programmes depending on whether the candidate is taking admission to the Aided division or Self-financed division of the college. Master’s courses are for a duration of 2 years. Basic eligibility criteria is the completion of Graduation. While some courses allow graduates of any field to take admission, certain other courses allow graduates with specific academic backgrounds. Details are as follows-

The Doctor of Philosophy [Ph.D] degree is offered by the college to students aspiring to pursue research. Six different subjects are offered for research from the faculties of Science, Social Sciences and Languages. Eligibility criteria for these courses requires candidates to have a Master’s degree or equivalent, in the relevant field. Following are the subjects offered-

Candidates can apply for admission to the UG or PG courses by filling up the online Application Form, available on the official website of the college.

• Navigate to the Admission Section of the website
• In the Admission Registration page of STC, Cochin candidates registering for the first time, can click on the “Create An Account” option
• Give a valid email ID and set a password. These credentials can be used each time to login into the account, to check the status of the Application Form
• At this point, candidates can also choose to apply for admission through the management quota. Choose accordingly.
• Click on the Login link once the account has been created.
• Then furnish all information asked such as personal details, guardian information, qualifications, course and subject combination opted, etc
• Proceed to payment of the Application Fee
• Submit form. This completes the Application process.
