Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The eligibility criteria is a pass mark in CAT Exam. The college has four MBA courses, i.e., Core, Human Resource, International Business, and Executive.
I took admission in the year 2019 in MBA Entrepreneurship and is the first batch for this stream introduced that year only. So the cutoff was low at around 70 percentile. But for other streams, it was 87 percentile in 2019. Every year the cutoff varies depending upon the number of applications received and the last submission date of the admission form. If the form closes before the announcement of CAT results, the cutoff will probably be low; otherwise, it will be high.
After getting shortlisted based on CAT scores, there was a group discussion and a personal interview round. The GDPI round was very easy as they generally asked about the subjects studied in the graduation and the city you are coming from.
Placements & Internships :
Summer Placements:
Every year companies start visiting the campus for summer placements in December or January. Some of the students got placed from the campus in my batch, but some had to look for the same off-campus. Companies like Delhivery, United Breweries, American Express, BigMediaKart, Finxera, and Khadi essentials visited the campus offering diverse roles like Social media marketing, digital marketing, e-commerce, HR, and sales advertising, business development, etc.
The highest stipend offered was INR 50,000 per month by American Express, and the candidate also got a PPO from the company.
I got placed at Innovative Incentives and Rewards Pvt. Ltd. for a digital marketing role. It was an unpaid internship, but the experience was good, and a lot of learning opportunities were available.
Final Placements:
Companies like American Express, Avery Dennison, Infosys, Volvo, HDFC, and Bacardi visited the campus for the 2020 batch's final placements.
There were various roles offered like product manager, talent acquisition, Sales manager, Business development manager, brand manager, etc.
The Tolaram group offered the highest INR 55 LPA salary, and the average salary was INR 9 LPA.
Around 80% of the students were placed for the 2020 batch.
Academics & Faculty :
The classes start at 8 am and end at 5 pm. The college conducts various seminars, workshops, and competitions organized by various clubs in the college.
The faculty is good, but their methods of teaching are good. It's a student-driven college.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
Panjab University has around 10 hostels for girls and boys. The hostel fee is very low, and it's just INR 6000 per semester. The hostel staff is really helpful and warm. All the hostels are open 24/7, and the food at the hostels is also good.
The central library of PU, AC Joshi, is open all the time, and students can study there anytime. It is the main reason that students opt for hostels rather than PGs. The whole campus is Wifi enabled. PGs are also available in Sector 15, but I would suggest that hostel is much better than living in a PG as there are no time restrictions and good food is available at a very reasonable rate.
Clubs & Associations :
UBS's four main student cells are Business cell, Alumni Relations cell, Hospitality, and Public relations. Other clubs include consulting club, investment club, and environment club.
There are various competitions, seminars, and workshops organized by these clubs and cells, which help you gain skills and knowledge.
Events like management conclave, HR conclave, Alumni meet are organized every year by the students at a very large scale.
Other events keep on happening in the Panjab University campus, open to all students, like a treasure hunt, poetry recitation, art competitions, etc.
Life at the Panjab University campus is something that a student will cherish throughout his or her life.
