Infrastructure Facilities at University Institute of Legal Studies, Punjab University:

Campus:

  • The college has an independent four-storeyed building consisting of 18 modern spacious classrooms, well furnished separate Common Rooms for boys and girls.
  • The campus as an Administrative Office, a Conference Hall, a well-equipped 'Computer Lab' with 75 computers backed by free internet connectivity and Wi-Fi facility
  • It also has a fully functional library with a varied collection of books, journals and other e-resources.
  • Recently the institute has formed a well-equipped clinic for Legal Aid, Moot Court Hall with all modern things and the Language Laboratory to uplift the professional and communication skills of the students.

Library:

  • The Institute has established its own independent, spacious, two-storeyed air-conditioned library to promote excellence in education.
  • The Institute's library is one of the richest law libraries in the region, which stocks over 11,000 text and reference books along with a varied collection of encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference material.
  • It subscribes to over 60 international and national legal and other journals and magazines.
  • In addition to these, the library supports access to numerous e-sources, including Manupatra and West Law International.
  • A well-equipped 'Computer Lab' with over 75 computers backed by free internet connectivity and Wi-Fi facility has also been set up.
  • This library is being managed by a team of well trained and committed professionals, who periodically organize orientation programmes for the students to enable them to utilize the services and resources of the library to the fullest.

Hostel:

  • The college also provides students with a safe, secure and affordable accommodation.
  • The college has seventeen Residence Halls built for students on the campus, among them 8 for boys and 9 for girls and a Working Women Hostel.
  • These Halls, are having the seating capacity of 6000 people, are named after eminent men and women. 
  • There are Wardens/Hostel Staff on duty round the clock.
  • All the hostels in the campus are facilitated with canteen, dining hall, water coolers, a visitor's lounge, an outdoor court for badminton, volleyball and many other facilities.
  • The Common Room is fairly well equipped with current magazines and newspapers and indoor games, LCD TV and music system.
  • Internet connectivity through wi-fi and cyber cafe has been provided in each hostel.

Computer Centre:

  • The computer centre has been providing computing and network facilities to the whole of the campus.
  • PU is been selected as a node by Ministry of HRD, Government of India to connect with National Knowledge Commission [NKN] in an high network bandwidth.
  • 10 Gigabit campus-wide Network to give an high-speed connectivity to various departments through National knowledge network (NKN) in the Computer Center of the University is been established. 
  • Almost all the Departments are connected through an optical fibre.
