Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm and M.Pharm Admissions

  • Those who wish to be admitted to the B.Pharm course must have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and any one of the following subjects - Biology/Biotechnology/Mathematics.
  • The M.Pharm programme (Masters of Pharmacy) is offered in the following branches - Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology.
  • Those who seek admission in M.Pharm must have compulsorily completed the 4-year B.Pharm course and have a valid GPAT score. The admissions are done after calculating 70% weightage from GPAT and 30% from the aggregate marks of all semesters of the graduation course.
  • Candidate must have qualified in the Common Entrance Test (Panjab University CET) conducted by the University in the academic year for which admission is sought.

Application Procedure

  • Interested applicants must look at the official college website to know about applications, dates and deadlines for admission.
  • The form can be filled up and submitted directly online with scanned copies of passport photograph and signature. The candidates must fill in all the required personal details.
  • The application fee can be paid online through credit/debit card or net banking.

Cutoff and Reservations at UIPS, Chandigarh

  • Candidates are given rankings and categorised on the basis of the 10+2 qualifying examination along with the relevant entrance examination - PU CET in the case of B.Pharm admissions.
  • Those who obtain higher ranks are called for the initial rounds of counselling and given the first preference in admissions.
  • For M.Pharm admissions, cut off lists are given out on the basis of 70% weightage from the GPAT exam and 30% from the aggregate marks obtained in all semesters of the bachelor's degree.
  • The candidates who have graduated from the Panjab University will be awarded additional weightage of 10% on B. Pharm. marks.
  • Non-GPAT candidates will also be considered for admission in the Self-Finance courses, only if seats are left vacant after admitting all GPAT-qualified candidates, provided that their overall percentage of B. Pharm. marks is not less than 60%.

Hostel and Mess Facilities on Panjab University Campus

  • There are seventeen Residence Halls for students on the campus, 8 for boys, 9 for girls and a Working Women's Hostel.
  • There are Wardens/Hostel Staff on duty round the clock to tend to the needs and living comfort of students.
  • Each hostel has a dining hall and canteen, several desert and water coolers and a visitors' lounge to entertain family or friends. There is also an outdoor court for badminton, volleyball etc. provided for recreation and fitness of the students.
  • Students are served fresh, healthy food daily at subsidised rates in the mess.
  • The Common Room is fairly well equipped with current magazines and newspapers. There is provision for indoor games, LCD TV and music system. Internet connectivity has been provided in each hostel for anyone to access.
  • The hostels are aesthetically laid out with plenty of open space and a lot of greenery. Each wing of the hostel has several verandahs and balconies.
  • The rooms are comfortable, fitted with fans, lights and hard furniture.
  • Talent shows, dramatics and literary events are organised from time to time, where hostel inmates are given maximum encouragement to participate.
