Women Institute of Technology established in 2012 and situated in Dehradun is among the first four constituent colleges of Uttarakhand Technical University with the approval of the State Government and AICTE.  WIT is the first Women-Only engineering institute in the state of Uttarakhand. The idea behind the establishment of the Institute was to empower women from rural and financially weaker parts of society by providing technical expertise and enabling them to become sufficiently confident and skilled to meet the professional world's increasing challenges. WIT has made considerable strides in this aspect by ensuring that quality technical education is accessible to women students.

Women Institute of Technology’s vision is to create the institute as one of the leading self-sustaining centers of excellence for quality technical education by shaping budding technocrats in order to grow the creative industry and community demand-driven services. And their mission is to empower women to build a society and to develop technical skills, human values, interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills among students by providing quality technical education. WIT Admission is merit-based.

Bachelor of Technology [B. Tech] is a four-year undergraduate course aimed at teaching aspirants a passion and desire to integrate technology into our lives with the sole purpose of making our lives simpler while making tremendous advances in the field of engineering. Students who passed in 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the B.Tech course. This course encourages learners to develop technical skills, soft skills, and analytical skills in all respects.
