- The candidate must be a citizen of India to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
- He/ She must be 17 years on or before 31st December 2023 to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
- The candidate must have passed in all the subjects in class 10th and 12th with minimum eligibility marks.
- The mandatory subjects are a group of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology or Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics with any other subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
- The minimum eligibility marks required in class 12th are as follows:
- For OC/ BC/ BCM/ MBC/ DNC candidates- the minimum eligibility is of 35%marks individually in all subjects and an aggregate of a minimum of 40% marks.
- For SC/ SCA/ ST candidates- the minimum eligibility is of 35%marks individually in all subjects and an aggregate of a minimum of 35% marks.
- A minimum of 35% of marks in English is the eligibility condition.
- Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu and have passed Class VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII from Tamil Nadu can apply without providing the "Nativity Certificate" to satisfy the eligibility condition.
- However, Nativity Certificate is mandatory in the case of candidates who have passed Class VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu to cover up the eligibility criteria.
- Candidates whose parents are employees of the Central Government can apply without any nativity certificate, provided their parents or guardians (if neither parent is alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu for the past five years at the time of application submission.
- Candidates who have studied Class VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII in Tamil Nadu but belong to other states can also apply without enclosing the "Nativity Certificate" to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
- Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions who have been employed in Tamil Nadu for the past five years at the time of the submission of application can also apply, regardless of their domicile.
