CAT 2024 correction window for CAT application form 2025 is opening soon. The registration has  been closed on 20 September at 5 p.m. (IST). Aspiring candidates must register themselves before the deadline at the official website, i.e., imcat.ac.in. CAT 2024 will be conducted by IIM Calcutta.

CAT 2024 Registration

CAT 2024 has been closed on 20 Sep, 2024. The application process began on Aug 1, 2024, on the official website at iimcat.ac.in. Before applying for the exam, candidates are also advised to check their eligibility criteria.

Details about the CAT 2024 registration are as follows. A CAT application form correction facility will be provided for the registered candidates. The last date to edit their application form will also be released on the website.

IIM CAT Registration 2024: How to Apply?

The candidates must follow the steps below to apply for the CAT exam 2024 successfully.

  • Login: CAT 2024 login credentials will be sent to the candidates' registered email IDs or mobile numbers after they enter all the required details for CAT 2024 registration. The applicants must take down the credentials to log into the candidate portal on the official website.
  • Enter All Details Carefully: The application form requires candidates to enter various details. Candidates must fulfil this step with utmost care and attention. Mistakes of spelling or factual errors should be avoided.
  • Upload Documents as Per Specifications: The candidates will be asked to upload their photographs and signatures along with the form. The candidates must resize the documents as per the specifications given on the website. Candidates from reserved categories will be asked to upload their respective category certificates.

CAT 2024 Admission Procedure

CAT 2024 admission policy for the MBA program remains the same as last year. Candidates can check the following stage-wise academic requirements for IIM Calcutta's MBA program.

Stage 1: CAT Result and IIM Shortlist

The exam's organizing authority must first disclose the CAT 2024 results.

  • IIMs will start publishing dates for shortlists and subsequently commence the CAT process for admission.
  • IIMs will publish their own CAT cutoffs for 2024 for various categories.
  • The list of candidates who have been shortlisted for the next selection round will be made accessible on the relevant IIMs' websites.

CAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

CAT exam eligibility is specified in the notification by IIMs. However, candidates can take a look at the primary CAT exam eligibility 2024 announced in previous years. 

  • IIM has decided to remove the minimum percentage of marks (45% and 50% [or equivalent CGPA] respectively) for appearing in the CAT 2024 exam because of the possibility that various universities will use various evaluation patterns throughout the nation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 
  • This exception will be made to provide equality for candidates who obtained their bachelor's degree in 2020/2021/2024 or who will do so in 2024. Please be aware that this notice applies to the criteria for writing the CAT 2024. The eligibility criteria for CAT 2024 will be updated once the official notification is released.
  • Candidates are advised to look at and follow respective institution-specific admission policies. This will be for 2020, 2021, and 2024 graduates. The minimum eligibility criteria for all the other candidates are Graduation with 50% - General/ OBC-NC/EWS, and Graduation with 45% - SC/ST/ PWD.
  • The college or institute that a candidate has studied in shall abide by the Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or be declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

CAT Test Cities and Centres

The CAT exam centres list will be released by the conducting authority on the official website for the candidates. IIM Lucknow has identified 154 cities and approximately 300 locations to serve as the official CAT exam centres 2024. The hall tickets of the candidates will contain all the necessary details related to the exam centre of candidates for CAT 2024.

Candidates must ensure that they select their CAT test centre carefully, as no change will be allowed after the submission of the application form. Candidates can choose up to 6 locations as their preferred exam centres for CAT 2024. They must ensure they reach their test centre at least one day before the exam.

CAT Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates can download their CAT 2024 admit cards until the exam day after they are released in Nov 2024. Candidates taking the CAT exam must adhere to all exam-day rules, including the COVID-19 rules released by the IIM hosting the test. The formalities that candidates have been given below.

  • When the candidates arrive at the IIMCAT exam centre, they must first find their lab and go through the frisking process.
  • After completing this work, candidates' systems will be assigned, and their documents will be verified.
  • Finally, to start the exam, candidates must finish the registration process and log in.

CAT Key Changes

The key changes made to CAT last year are listed below. The revised changes will be updated for CAT 2024 after the official notification is released.

  • The cost for candidates who fall under the general/EWS/NC-OBC categories went up to INR 2,300 from INR 2,200. The amount will be raised from INR 1,100 to INR 1,150 for candidates who are SC/ST/PwD.
  • IIM Bangalore conducted the CAT exam 2024. The Convenor of CAT 2024 will be Prof. Ashis Mishra.
  • There were only 150 CAT test cities 2024 instead of 156.
  • CAT 2024 exam eligibility requirements were unchanged from the previous year. Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) will be also added to the list of eligible professional degrees.
  • Candidates had to provide their COVID-19 vaccination status, including the dates of their first and second doses.
