What is VIMCAT 2023?
VIMCAT is the combined admission test for PGDDCCC (Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Content Creation and Communication) and the four certificate programmes run by VIMC, which focuses on enhancing skills of individuals for a successful career in the field of mass communication in the post-COVID world. VIMC functions under the aegis of Strength India Education Society, who also runs prestigious institutions like VIPS and DSB.

VIMCAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for VIMCAT is mentioned below. The candidates are required to go through the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.
- Graduate in any discipline for PGDDCCC - anybody with an aptitude for mass communication for certificate programmes.
- For Indian Participants - Graduates (10+2+3) from a recognized university (UGC/AICTE/ DEC/AIU/State Government) in any discipline can register for VIMCAT.
- For International Participants - Graduation or equivalent degree from any recognized University or Institution in their respective country can register for VIMCAT.
VIMCAT 2023 Application Form
The application form for VIMCAT will be available from Jul 30, 2023 to Aug 30, 2023, tentatively. The candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to register themselves.
- Step 1: Visit the official website of VIMCAT, vimc.in
- Step 2: Go to the 'Admission' tab.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Register’.
- Step 4: Fill the form and follow the procedure mentioned to successfully apply for VIMCAT.
VIMCAT 2023 Registration Fee
VIMCAT Registration fee is INR 2200 and should be paid online. The candidates can use credit/debit cards along with UPI or Internet Banking to pay the application fee.
VIMCAT 2023 Syllabus & Exam Pattern

VIMCAT 2023 Selection Process
VIMC will conduct the final selection process for admission in 2023 from Sep 12 to Sep 28, 2023, tentatively in Delhi. Read below the key components, steps and weightages awarded in the VIMC selection process.
The selection process for PGDDCCC and other certification programmes 2023-22 batch at VIMC involves two steps:
- Step 1: The candidates are required to appear in the VMC Admission Test (VIMCAT).
- Step 2: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in VIMCAT 2023 and will be required to appear for both GD & PI at designated centre on designated dates
Preparation of Merit List: All those candidates who appear in GD & PI, and fulfil the following conditions will be considered for the merit list:
- Majority recommendation by all the panel members of PI.
- At least 130 or more on a 200-point scale in GD
- At least 210 or more on a 300-point scale in PI
Weightages in Final Merit List
For all those who meet the criteria, a final composite score (FCS) shall be created based on the following weightage:
