About IIMC
Established in 1965, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi, was set up with the objective of imparting essential knowledge and training in the various fields of Mass Communication. IIMC provides opportunities to aspirants in the Journalism and Media industry through their annual entrance exam, qualifying which the students can enroll themselves at IIMC and attain the required set of tools and experiences that would allow them to flourish in their respective careers.

IIMC 2023 Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

- An Indian national with a bachelor's degree awarded by a recognized university is eligible to apply for a PGDM course at IIMC.
- A student appearing or appearing for their final degree examination is also eligible to apply. If selected, their admission will be subjected to their producing at least a provisional certificate in original from their college or university latest by a month into the academic year.
IIMC 2023 Age Limit
The age limits set by IIMC for appearing for the exam for different categories are as follows.
General Category: The candidate must be born in Aug 1995 or later.
SC/ST/Physically Challenged: The candidate's date of birth should be Aug 1990 or later.
OBC: Candidates must be born on or later than Aug 1992.
IIMC 2023 NRI Quota
Five additional seats will be reserved for the NRI candidates/NRI-sponsored candidates. The eligibility criteria and age limits for NRI quota candidates is the same as other candidates with respect to their individual categories.
However, the NRI candidates need not appear for the entrance test, they may advance directly to the next stage which is the Group Discussion and Personal Interview by depositing an entry fee of $50.

The candidates who make it to the merit list of the written test will be eligible for the next two rounds of the admission process, and first will be the Group Discussion. The candidates will be allotted a topic and asked to have a group discussion on the same for 20 to 30 minutes.
Part III: Personal Interview (PI)
The same candidates will also go through the Personal Interview. This will be the last round of the testing procedure. The candidates who will successfully clear this round will make it to the final merit list for the next academic batch.
Note: The weightage for the final merit list will be based on the 75/25 weightage, implying that of the total calculation 75% will be accounted for the written examination, and 25% will account for the Interview/Group Discussion.

IIMC 2023 Counselling
The allocation of the centre (applicable to English Journalism) will be on the basis of merit-cum-preference. Candidates are advised to rank all the centres (IIMC Regional Campuses) in the order of their preference. In the event of a candidate leaving the choice of centre blank, IIMC will allocate the centre to the candidate on the basis of an alphabetical roster.
Successful candidates are given seven days of time to secure their admission by depositing the prescribed fees online along with necessary documents. Candidates claiming reservation under the Economically Weaker Section scheme should produce the Income & Asset Certificate issued in the prescribed format by a revenue officer not less than a Tahsildar or a designated Magisterial Officer rank.
Further rounds of results (2 or 3) would be announced depending upon the number of admissions secured. If any seats remain vacant in any of the centre(s), the same shall be offered to any of the interested candidates who have qualified in the written examination as per category-wise merit.
