The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2008 to prevent students from dropping out of their education after class 8th and should continue to study further. Under the NMMS scheme, every student gets a scholarship of rupees INR 6,000 per annum. Every state has its parameters when it comes to awarding scholarships. The results for the same will be announced by the school education board of each state. The school education board of Telangana will release NMMS Telangana results.

NMMS Telangana Important Dates
NMMS scheme's benefits can only be enjoyed by those candidates whose parental income from all sources is not more than 1,50,000. The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Exam, Telangana, is conducted by the Telangana Directorate of Government Examinations. This scheme is applicable for class 8th, and this examination shall be implemented only in Telangana. This scheme aims to provide grants to deserving students who have to take a drop from their education.

NMMS Telangana Exam Pattern
Every State or Union Territory conducts its exam to select the students for this scholarship exam. This exam consists of two tests mentioned below.
- Mental Ability Test (MAT)- 90 marks multiple questions
- Scholastic Ability Test (SAT)- 90 marks multiple-choice questions
Topics covered under SAT paper are Social Science, Science, and Mathematics till class 8 level.
NMMS Telangana Cutoff
Only those candidates are eligible for the scholarship who clears the cutoff for the examination after passing the exam. The cutoff structure for NMMS Telangana depends on factors like the number of candidates who appeared for the examination and the examination's difficulty level. According to the guidelines, the reserved category students should score more than 50%marks in class 7th. Students belonging to the general category should score more than 55% marks in class 7th to avail of the scholarship under this scheme.

The NMMS merit list includes the names of the students who will be rewarded with the scholarship and the details like their roll numbers.
