- A bachelor’s degree with a minimum score of 45-55% in any specialisation.
- Students must take national-level MBA entrance tests such as the CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, etc and acquire a minimum score to be eligible for these exams.
- Apart from the national-level exams some universities conduct their exams. To be eligible for admission to the targeted institutes, candidates must pass certain university-level exams.
- Before admission is officially confirmed, exemplary students will be approached for a personal interview. Several colleges also hold group discussions during this step to shortlist prospective candidates. Only applicants who complete the personal interview or group discussion rounds will be considered for admission to the prestigious university.
- Candidates with professional experience of 2.5 to 3 years get consideration during the admissions process. However, the criteria for job experience differ based on the business school.
- Candidates must also have qualified for the GMAT and GRE tests by achieving minimum scores.
- To study MBA overseas, candidates must submit an SOP, letter of recommendation, and successfully pass language proficiency exams such as the TOEFL and IELTS.

- CAT: CAT (Common Admission Test) is a qualifying exam for admission to MBA, PGDM, and other postgraduate management programs in India. The test has three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. The exam lasts three hours and is administered online, with one hour allotted for each section.
- XAT: XLRI Jamshedpur conducts XAT ( Xavier Aptitude Test) for admission to MBA and PGDM programs. XIMB, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI Manipal, etc are the participating colleges. The syllabus includes Verbal and Logical Ability, GK, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
- MAT: MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) to select candidates for admission to MBA and PGDM programs.
- SNAP: Symbiosis International (Deemed) University conducts SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) for admission to MBA/PGDM programs. SNAP is conducted once a year and the duration of the exam is 1 hour.
- GMAT: GMAC conducts the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) for admission to 5400+ programs in a few Business Schools. The duration of the GMAT exam is 3 hours 30 minutes.
