What is MGU CAT?
MGU CAT also known as Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test is an entrance examination conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam for admissions to various postgraduate programs such as;
- LLM
- M. Sc
- Master of Tourism and Travel Management
- MA and M.Ed.
For admission to the MTech program, candidates with a valid GATE score can apply directly. For admission to the MBA programs offered by MGU, candidates are selected based on their CMAT/ CAT/ KMAT score and they will have to participate in the MGU CAT counselling process only.

MGU CAT Exam Day Guidelines and Instructions
It is mandatory to carry a photo identity card along with MGU CAT 2023 admit card to the examination hall failing which the aspirant will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. Find below the other MGU CAT exam day guidelines and instructions to be followed by all candidates:
Before Entering the Exam Centre
- Candidates should reach the exam centre one hour before the time advised in the MGU CAT admit card.
- Have a hearty breakfast or light lunch (depending on the session) before leaving for the examination centre.
- Drink plenty of fluids to avoid getting dehydrated which can affect your performance in the exam.
- If it is a busy centre, don’t wait till the last minute for the entry and security check as the centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
- Admit card is mandatory for admission to the MGU CAT Exam Centre. No candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of a valid admit card.
- Usually, no bags are allowed.
- No eatables are allowed.
- No communication equipment such as mobile phones/ pager/ wireless set/ scanner/ camera or any such electronic/digital gadget is allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
After Entering the Exam Centre
- Once the candidate enters the exam centre location, they should locate their designated hall and seat.
- After all the formalities are done, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
- For objective-type question papers, rough work should be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR answer sheet in any situation.
- Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
- Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the MGU CAT Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
- The candidates are required to return their OMR answer sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire MGU CAT entrance test.
- Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to the candidate being expelled from taking the examination.
- Caught copying/helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet/ cancellation of the candidature.
- Marking the answer sheet/ question paper in any way will also lead to the cancellation of the exam for that candidate.
