NEET Brochure Prospectus 2024, or Information Bulletin, will be published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on their official website for NEET. The NEET 2024 Brochure Prospectus contains detailed information on various aspects of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG).

NEET 2024 Syllabus

NEET 2024 Exam Pattern

As per the NEET brochure prospectus 2024, the Test pattern of NEET (UG)-2024 comprises two sections. Individual subjects will consist of two sections each.

Section A will have a total of 35 Questions, and Section B will consist of 15 questions in total. One has the option of attempting only 10 questions out of the total 15 in this section. So, the total number of questions along with the total utilization of time, will remain the same.

NEET 2024 General Instructions

The NTA has also laid down some general instructions and ground rules in the NEET brochure prospectus for candidates who will be appearing for NEET 2024.

Information about some general guidelines for all candidates as per the NEET Brochure is mentioned below:

Dress Code

Candidates who will be appearing for NEET (UG) 2024 are instructed by the NTA to maintain the dress code given below:

• Light clothes with long sleeves will not be permitted. In the case of candidates coming in cultural/ customary dress at the Examination Centre, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time i.e. 12.30 pm, so that proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination can be done.
• Slippers and sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are not permitted
• For any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the Admit Cards are issued.

Barred Items

The candidates will have to adhere to extensive and compulsory frisking with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors. The following items inside the examination centre under any circumstances by any candidate:

• Any item like textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Geometry/Pencil Box, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives etc.
• Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Microphone, Pager, Bluetooth, Earphones, Health Band, etc.
• Any ornaments/metallic items. 
• Other items like handbags, wallets, goggles, belts, caps, etc.
• Any other item which could be used for unfair means, by hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc.
• Any Wristwatch, Camera, Bracelet etc.
• Any opened or packed food item, water bottle, etc.

Unfair Means and Practices

Unfair Means and Practices involve activities that allow a candidate to gain an unfair advantage over other candidates. This may include:

• Carrying any item or article which has been prohibited or can be used for unfair practices
• Using an impersonator to write the examination (impersonation) or preparing material for copying. 
• Making fake claims and manipulating the responses in the OMR sheet uploaded on the website for the challenge before or after the declaration of the result.
• Any other malpractices declared as unfair means by the NTA.
• Assisting other candidates and engaging in malpractices, giving or receiving assistance directly or indirectly of any kind, or attempting to do so.
• Trying to contact or communicate with any person other than the examination staff during the examination time in the examination centre.
• Taking away the answer sheet from the examination hall/room.
• Attempting to use any undesirable method or means in connection with the examination
• Fabrication and manipulation of online documents admit card, rank letter, self-declaration, etc.

Punishment for using Unfair Means and Practices

The candidate would be debarred for 3 years in the future and shall also be liable for criminal action and /or any other action as deemed fit. Indulgence in any of the above or similar practices, during the course of, before, or after the examination if a candidate he/she shall be deemed to have used unfair practices and booked under UNFAIR MEANS (U.F.M.) case.

Cancellation of Result

The result of NEET(UG)-2024 of the candidates who take part in unfair means or practices will not be declared. The result of those candidates who appear from the centre other than the one allotted to them, allow other candidates to write on their test booklet/OMR Sheet, write on the test booklet/OMR sheet of other candidates will not be declared. 

NEET 2024 Application Process

Candidates who wish to appear for NEET must register themselves from the official website of NTA for NEET. The steps to fill out the application form are given below:

1. Students need to go to the official website of NTA for NEET i.e., “ntaneet.nic.in” and find the “Fill Registration Form” link at the bottom of the page.
2. After clicking on the link, students will be redirected to the registration page, where they need to click on the “New Registration” tab to start the registration process.
3. Students will be asked to provide information like personal details, contact information, family information, etc.
4. After successfully providing the necessary details and creating a password and security pin, students will be asked to log in for an online application.
5. The online application form will be displayed where the information filled during registration will be pre-filled and cannot be changed.
6. Students are advised to check the details thoroughly before the final submission of the application form and then click on “Yes” when the pop-up window for submission is displayed.
7. Students are then required to upload necessary documents in their correct formats for verification.
8. After the successful submission of the documents, the application fee needs to be paid by the students.
9. After successful payment and completion of the application process, a confirmation slip will be displayed which needs to be downloaded or printed by the students for future reference.

NEET 2024 Admit Card

Candidates of NEET 2024 can now download the admit card from the official website of NTA for NEET. Candidates must keep at least 3-4 copies of the admit card for future reference. Steps on how to download the admit card are mentioned below:

1. Candidates need to visit the official website of NEET 2024 i.e., “ntaneet.nic.in”.
2. Candidates need to find and click on the link named “NEET 2024 Admit Card” which will be in the “Current Events” section.
3. Candidates will be required to provide their application number, date of birth and password to log in and access their admit cards.
4. After successful login, the admit card details will be displayed for the particular candidate.
5. Candidates will have the option to either take a direct printout or download the admit card in PDF format whichever is suitable.

What Happens After Attending NEET Exam 2024?

After a candidate has successfully appeared for NEET 2024, there are various questions in the minds of a candidate regarding the declaration of results, preparation of the merit list, the qualifying criteria for admissions, etc. Information on these topics is given below:

Declaration of Result

The National Testing Agency will evaluate the answer scripts using standard procedure, and the result will be displayed on the website: neet.nta.nic.in, and thereafter candidates will be able to download their respective Score Cards.

Merit List

According to the NEET brochure prospectus 2024, the NTA will prepare the Merit List/ All India Rank (AIR) for NEET (UG) 2024 as per Qualifying Criteria and other norms as well as the relevant regulations/guidelines of NMC/DGHS/MCC and Ministry of AYUSH/NCISM/CCIM/NCH/CCH/AACCC, as the case may be. Some important points to note regarding the merit list are:

• In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks/percentile scores in the NEET (UG) 2024, the inter-se-merit shall be determined as follows: 
• Higher marks/percentile scores in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the test, followed by
• Higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the test followed by,
• Less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test
• Merit List of eligible and successful candidates in the 15% All India category quota seats will be prepared by the NTA based on marks obtained in the NEET (UG) - 2024. Successful candidates shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India for seat allotment by online counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats.
• Merit list for seats other than 15% All India Quota are  
• All-India rank and results will be provided by the NTA and shared with the DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India, and Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India to provide the same to the Admitting Authorities.
• Admitting authorities will send invitations to applicants for counselling.
• The admitting/counselling authorities will make a merit list of the candidates based on the All India Rank declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling as per State applicable rules.

Qualifying Criteria

The National Testing Agency will come up with an All India Merit List of NEET 2024 candidates based on the eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Medical Commission and Dental Council of India.

• Eligibility for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses for a particular academic year in the case of General, General-EWS, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to Undergraduate Medical Courses held for the said academic year.
• Furthermore, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th percentile for candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes.
• Additionally, in respect of candidates with disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks will be the 45th percentile for Unreserved Category & GEN-EWS Category candidates and the 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC NCL candidates. The percentile will be decided based on the highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses.
