NEET counselling procedure is divided into two categories: 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85% State Quota (SQ) seats. MCC conducts AIQ seat counselling, while the state counselling agencies of the Directorates of Medical Education for various states will conduct NEET state counselling. Only NEET UG-qualified students can apply for NEET counselling 2025 process.  

NEET 2025 counselling round 1 counselling is expected to start in the second week of Aug 2025. The MCC will issue the NEET 2025 seat matrix after each round of counselling.

AYUSH NEET UG counselling registration link 2025 is expected to start in the second week of Oct 2025. AYUSH NEET counselling is for candidates who want to secure admission in BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, BUMS, and BSMS courses at 15% AIQ seats in government, central universities, and private colleges. AYUSH NEET UG counselling registration link 2025 will be activated at aaccc.gov.in. 

The seat matrix for the NEET 2025 counselling will be released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). A total of 26,582 seats are available for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programs at JIPMER, AIIMS, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, and All India Quota colleges based on the previous year trends.

Candidates qualified for NEET UG 2025 can apply through the official website, mcc.nic.in. NEET UG counselling seat allotment 2025 for round 3 is expected to be released in the first week of Oct 2025. Steps to Register for NEET Counselling 2025

Candidates can check the details on how to register for NEET counselling 2025 below:

Stage 1: Online Registration

  • Details: To initiate the registration process for NEET 2025, provide details like roll number, name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address.
  • Generation of Credentials: Upon successful registration, a login ID and password are generated and sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.

Stage 2: Choice Filling

  • Selection of Courses: Select the course of preference.

Stage 3: Seat Allotment

  • Rounds: The process of seat allotment is conducted in three rounds. However, in the case of left seats, the conducting body will conduct more rounds to fill them.

NEET 2025 Counselling Procedure

The eligible candidates will have to go through two rounds of counselling. All-India Quota Counselling is conducted by the MCC (Medical Counseling Committee), while State Counselling will be conducted by the respective state exam authority.

NEET Seat Matrix 2025

The National Medical Commission (NMC) and the participating institutions verifies the preliminary seat matrix. A letter inviting medical colleges to enter their seats at the official portal, mcc.nic.in, is sent by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) in the third week of Jul 2025.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releases the seat matrix for the NEET 2025 counselling procedure. There are a total of 26,582 seats available for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing courses throughout the All India Quota, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, ESIC, and JIPMER institutions based on previous year trends.

Additionally, MCC has informed institutions that the user ID and password they need to access the portal are the same as the previous year. If an institution forgets its password or wants to set a new one, it can also use the facility to retrieve its password.

NEET 2025 Counselling Details

NEET 2025 counselling is held separately for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85% State Quota seats. While the former is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the latter is conducted by the State Medical Admission Authorities for the MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses.

NEET counselling 2025 is likely to be conducted in four rounds, and additional rounds will be announced depending on the seat vacancy status. While candidates are allowed to register for the first two rounds, no registration process will be available for the Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Round.

NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates who meet the below-given criteria can participate in the NEET 2025 counselling process.

  • The candidate has qualified for NEET with minimum cut-off marks.
  • The candidate must have registered themself on MCC's official website.
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen
  • The candidate must have passed 12th or equivalent from a recognised board/institute, with biology, chemistry, physics, and English as the core subjects.

50% of seats (Institutional Quota Seats) will be reserved for former students of AMU who have been studying at the college for the past 3 years.

50% of seats are reserved for admission through NEET MCC Counselling 2025.

Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia University 47 out of the 50 available seats for the BDS course will be filled through NEET MCC counselling 2025. The remaining seats fall under the Institutional Quota and shall be given to former students who had studied at Jamia Millia Islamia in classes 11 and 12.
MAMC, LHMC, UCMS (DU)

85% of the seats will be filled by the DU NEET Counselling 2025. Students who cleared classes 11th and 12th from an institute situated in Delhi will be eligible to apply for these seats.

15% of the seats will be filled through NEET Counselling.

Reservation of AIQ Seats in NEET 2025

In the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats for undergraduate MBBS/BDS programs offered by the states and Union Territories to the Central pool, the conducting body has provided reservations for different categories, namely SC/ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD, based on which NEET 2025 counselling will be conducted. The reservation of AIQ seats in NEET 2025 came into action from the 2021-22 academic session.

Important Information on NEET 2025 Counselling

For the Mop-up Round of NEET 2025 counselling, new seat allocations will be made. Candidates who have already been accepted into Rounds 1 and 2 of the counselling process will be able to fill out options in the mop-up round. If re-allotted, fees for already admitted students will be modified by the College Authority during the NEET admission process.

Those who do not receive a seat in the new seat allotment outcome will receive a full refund of their payments from the college administration." This notice is exclusively in connection to the allotment made for BDS seats in Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi UG 2025 Counselling," according to the MCC. NEET Counselling 2025: Convert Nationality to NRI

NEET candidates willing to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI should apply for the same in the first week of AUg 2025. They will have to send an email to MCC in the requisite format along with the necessary documents at the given email address.

List of Documents Required for Nationality Conversion to NRI

The following documents must be uploaded to the email in the following order:

  • Documents indicating that the sponsor is an NRI (sponsor's passport and visa).
  • Relationship between NRI and the candidate.
  • A notarized affidavit from the sponsor stating that he or she will fund the candidate's whole course price.

  • The candidate's NEET Score Card.

Conditions Levied by MCC for Candidates Willing to Convert Nationality to NRI

MCC has laid down the following prerequisites for candidates who wish to change their nationality to NRI:

  • Candidates must have appeared and qualified for the NEET 2025.
  • Once the category is changed, candidates will be unable to benefit from the Muslim Minority Quota, the Jain Minority Quota, the SC/ST/OBC/EWS Quota, or any other quota.
  • The conversion of candidates' nationality from 'Indian' to 'NRI' is 'Provisional' and is based on the documents supplied by the candidates, which will be checked by the allotted college authorities at the time of report.

NEET Counselling 2025: Category Certificate

Students seeking for NEET UG counselling in 2025 should submit the necessary paperwork regarding their CW concession or entitlement using the Delhi University portal, which can be accessed by visiting the Faculty of Medical Sciences website at fmsc.du.ac.in, according to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

CENTAC 2025 Common Online Admission Portal to All Colleges in U.T. of Puducherry

A provisional Allotment list for NEET-related degree courses (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and BVSc & AH – National-SS & NRI) in respect of Government / Management/ Self-supporting / NRI Quota will be published on the official website of CENTAC. From the date of the announcement of the Round 2 results to the last date, assigned candidates can report to their universities in person or online.

For further information about online reporting, go to the relevant college's website. Candidates who have been assigned seats should check in and download their allocation order from the start date which will be announced by the conducting body. At the time of admission, this allotment order should be given to the relevant colleges. Students are also sent SMS reminders to visit the website for more information.

Note: Candidates who do not submit their recently renewed Residence/Community Certificates on time can obtain their allotment order after submitting it either through the Grievance Attachment option in their dashboard or in person at the CENTAC Office on or before the last date.

Yes, students who did not register for the first round of NEET counselling or did not get any seat in round 1 can directly apply for the second round, as the Medical Counselling Committee allows fresh registrations for such candidates.
