NRI Quota in NEET 2025 MBBS Admissions:The NRI quota in NEET allows non-residential Indian students to pursue medical degrees from Indian medical colleges. Many institutes reserve a fixed number of seats for NRI students.
As per the Medical Council of India, 15% of the seats are reserved for both Indian and overseas students, whereas, the remaining 85% of seats are reserved for admission through the State quota.
The minimum NEET eligibility for NRI students is 17 years, and the maximum age bar is 25. Candidates should also hold a certificate from the Indian Diplomatic Mission as proof of their NRI status with other relevant documents.
Eligibility Criteria of NRI Quota in NEET 2025
To get admission into MBBS college through the NRI quota, candidates must meet the following NEET eligibility criteria 2025.
- It is mandatory to qualify the NEET exam by scoring the minimum cut off marks released by the exam authority.
- Candidates should have a valid Indian passport.
- The minimum age bar for NRI candidates is 17 years while the maximum age limit is 25 years.
- Candidates must complete their class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects. The aggregate marks should be 60% in the qualifying exam.
- Candidates should hold a certificate from the Indian Diplomatic Mission of their residential country.

How to Apply for NRI Quota in NEET UG 2025?
The NEET application process for NRI students is the same as that for Indian students. Candidates should complete their registration followed by the application form.
But candidates must qualify the NEET exam to participate in the counselling process. After the NEET result is declared, students can apply for state counselling by visiting the website of the college they are interested in.
Submission of necessary documents like a copy of passport, qualification certificates, visa copy and other relevant documents is mandatory at the time of admission.

NRI Quota in NEET Government College
In government and private medical colleges, 15% of the total seats are reserved for NRI students. However, five states reserve seats for NRI candidates for admission to MBBS courses: Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Puducherry.
