Important Tasks after NEET 2025 for Students

Apart from knowing what happens after NEET 2025 and keeping track of all the events, students must also be agile and take initiative about certain tasks that will help them be as informed, prepared, and confident about this process as possible.

Candidates should do the following after they have appeared for the NEET examination:

• Calculation of Score: As we know, NEET is an offline exam, and students will not be allowed to mark anything on the question paper during the examination. The students must make sure to retain their answers after the conclusion of the examination and mark them on their question papers for future reference. The candidates can come up with a rough score with the help of these answers and answer keys which various coaching centres and academic institutes release on the very same day of the NEET examination.
• Predicting the Rank: Candidates are advised to calculate an All-India Rank based on their rough scores, using the previous year's scores and their corresponding ranks for NEET.
• Shortlisting/Predicting Colleges: After students have a rough estimate of their NEET score and rank, they can shortlist or predict potential colleges that they can apply to based on previous year cutoffs and admission trends. This will help candidates be more prepared for the counseling process that will follow the declaration of actual NEET results and cutoffs.

What after NEET 2025 Result is declared?

The NEET 2025 result will be announced in Jun 2025, by the NTA. The NEET result contains details of the marks obtained by each candidate and their qualifying status for the exam.

Based on these results, NTA will compile a merit list for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling. Additionally, NTA will share the details of qualified candidates from each state with the respective authorities for the 85% state quota counselling.

After qualifying for the exam by scoring above the NEET cutoff:

• Candidates need to fill out an application for counselling.
• They must then attend the counselling session and secure admission to their preferred medical or dental college.

NEET 2025 Counselling Process

Once the NEET cutoff 2025 is announced, students can start applying for Medical, Dental, and other allied medical courses like BAMS, BHMS, BVSc, etc. For government colleges, 15% of the seats are filled through the All India Quota (AIQ), and the rest of the 85% are filled through state quota seats. So, your next step after the NEET Exam would be to go through the NEET counselling process.
