How Many Attempts for NEET 2025?
There are no attempt limits for NEET 2025. The conducting authority scrapped the NEET maximum attempt of three limitations earlier. CBSE mentioned - “There is no cap for the number of attempts.” Hence, there is no limit on NEET number of attempts. The National eligibility-cum-entrance test (NEET) has been conducted by the NTA since 2019. It is for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. In addition, NEET (UG) is the standard entrance exam from 2020 for admission to the MBBS/ BDS courses besides AIIMS & JIPMER.

NEET 2025 Age Limit - Lower and Upper Age Limit
Once students are aware of the NEET number of attempts, it is important to know about the age limit. According to the eligibility criteria for appearing in NEET 2025 specified by the conducting authority, the candidates should be 17 years old.
- The lower age limit for candidates is set at 17. The candidate should have reached the specified age while registering for admission or should reach that age by 31st December.

There has been colossal confusion regarding the upper age limit to appear for NEET. Earlier, for the general category candidates, the upper age limit was marked at 25 for candidates, while for reserved category candidates had 5 years age relaxation.
- MCI scrapped the upper age limit after recording the unrest regarding the controversy over the boundation of age limit set by CBSE for appearing in the NEET. Further, MCI addressed to MHFW that the attempts for AIPMT/NEET before 2017 will not be considered.
- Before NEET 2018, the rules were revised and the upper age limit was removed. Hence, candidates above the age of 25 years can attempt the examination.
- The National Medical Commission announced the elimination of the upper age limit for NEET UG through an official notice. The decision of removing the NEET upper age limit was taken in the 4th NMC meeting held on October 21, 2021, however, announced on March 9, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET 2025
Candidates need to satisfy the eligibility criteria to take part in the NEET 2025 exam. In addition, there are specific NEET eligibility criteria set by the conducting authorities, which are as follows:
- Candidates must pass their class 12 or equivalent examination with PCB and English as their core subjects.
- General category candidates must score a minimum of 50% in their board's examination.
- Reserved category candidates must score a minimum of 40%, and candidates with physical disabilities (PWD) should score 45%.

NEET 2025 Exam Pattern
NEET 2025 is split in two sections, namely, Section A and Section B. The four subjects on which the exam will be conducted are Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
- 35 questions will be asked in section A, and 15 questions from section B; among these 15 questions, candidates have the liberty to attain any 10 questions.
- All the questions will be in the MCQ pattern, and the question carries four marks.
Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be awarded for a correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.
