AIIMS MBBS Exam

AIIMS stands for All India Institute of Medical Sciences. AIIMS Delhi conducts AIIMS MBBS 2023 for candidates who are aspiring to study MBBS in one of the 15 AIIMS spread across India. AIIMS Delhi was established under the Govt of India by an Act of Parliament of 1956. AIIMS is an autonomous institute of National Importance. AIIMS entrance test is a national level entrance exam and All India Insitute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi conducts AIIMS.

Students who take the MBBS Course in All India Institute of Medical Sciences will study for a minimum of five and a half academic years. Out of five and a half year, four and a half year will be academic study and another year will be for a compulsory internship. Candidates who write AIIMS MBBS 2023 will be able to get admissions into MBBS in one of the 15 AIIMS Institutes across the country. These 15 institutes are considered as the top priority colleges or tier 1 colleges in the field of medical science and physical-biology. 

AIIMS Delhi, the conducting authority of the AIIMS MBBS 2023 follows a reservation policy. According to the reservation policy,

  • 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST),
  • 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC) and
  • 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC).
  • 5% reserved for Person with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) as per the provision of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 will be given.

AIIMS 2023 is responsible for the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the field of physical-biological sciences. More functions of them are in the field of dental and nursing education, innovations in education, research in medical and related fields, primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare, and also community-based teaching and research.

With respect to the postgraduate education offered by the institution, the main objective of AIIMS MBBS is to enhance training & research facilities for the teachers of the medical college in India. AIIMS MBBS 2023 Eligibility

Candidates who are applying for AIIMS MBBS should be born after 2nd January 2003 to be eligible to write the examination. Students can read the following to get more details about the AIIMS MBBS Eligibility.

To fulfil eligibility criteria, candidates should have to study English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and should have passed the 12th under Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science or an equivalent Exam of a recognized Board/University of any Indian State. Candidates who are applying for AIIMS MBBS should obtain minimum marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and biology and they are

  • 60% for General and Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates
  • 50% for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Sceduled Tribe (ST)/People with Benchmark Disability candidates

Candidates who are from the grading system will have to use the conversion factor to check the eligibility in percentage. The conversion factor will be decided by there respective Board of Examination. Only the Percentage score will be considered and not the grades.

AIIMS MBBS 2023 Syllabus

Generally, there is no official AIIMS MBBS Syllabus released by the AIIMS authority. However, AIIMS tests a candidate's knowledge and understanding in class XI and XII subjects. And prescribed AIIMS MBBS Syllabus is based on the 11th and 12th standard subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology). Candidates need to concentrate on the General Knowledge section also along with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. AIIMS MBBS 2023 Exam Pattern

It is important for candidates to know about the AIIMS MBBS Exam Pattern. The Paper consists of only one paper with 200 questions. The exam duration of AIIMS MBBS 2023 is 3 hours and 30 minutes (210 minutes).

  • Sections: AIIMS MBBS Exam consists of 4 sections. They are:
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Biology (Botany and Zoology), and
    • General Knowledge & Aptitude.

Every section in AIIMS MBBS Paper will have 60 questions each whereas General Knowledge & Aptitude will have a total of 20 questions combined. General Knowledge section will have most of the questions from the news and government scheme. AIIMS MBBS Exam 2023 will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be between 9:00 AM. to 12:30 PM (tentative). i.e. Morning Shift whereas Second Shift will be between 3:00 PM. to 6:30 PM. (tentative) i.e. the Afternoon Shift. While filling the AIIMS MBBS application form, you will have an option to select the paper language as either English or Hindi. You are advised to choose the paper language of your preference and convenience.

AIIMS MBBS 2023 Admit Card

All India Institute of Medical Sciences will release AIIMS MBBS Admit Card on the official website. The candidates should log in by entering their application number and the password to download the AIIMS MBBS Hall Ticket for AIIMS MBBS 2023 examination. AIIMS MBBS 2023 Candidates will need to carry their original photo ID proof along with the AIIMS MBBS 2023 Admit Card. Keep the admit card with you in hard and soft copy both throughout the admission process.

Candidates can check AIIMS MBBS Results from the official website of AIIMS. Candidates will not be informed by phone or any mode of communication regarding the result. AIIMS MBBS 2023 Counselling

After results are announced, eligible candidates will be called for AIIMS MBBS 2023 counselling. Details regarding AIIMS MBBS Counselling are:

It is mandatory to carry the original documents of the candidates. The AIIMS MBBS 2023 Admit Card is mandatory for the candidates to carry in the AIIMS MBBS 2023 Counselling Process. AIIMS MBBS 2023 exam should be qualified by the candidates to go forward with the counselling process. The applicant will be selected by merit and interview/group discussion based on the pattern set by the AIIMS. Candidate needs to carry a Migration Certificate from the University/Board at the time of Counselling. Candidate needs to carry one set of self-attested copies of all the certificates at the time of AIIMS MBBS Counselling. It will be prudent for a candidate to upload their documents on the cloud storage or keep a soft copy on the mobile phone and make sure the quality of uploads is clear and have high pixels.

Important Note: The AIIMS MBBS counselling will also be a part of NEET Counselling, the AIIMS' will not have any extra guideline and involvement in the process. The AIIMS MBBS Counselling will be done on the basis of NEET Score and will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).

AIIMS MBBS Seat Reservation

Reservation of Seats in AIIMS, New Delhi:

  • For Indian Nationals, there are 100 seats and for Foreign Nationals there are 7 seats available for MBBS course admission. Out of these, for the Scheduled Castes (SC), there are a total of 15 seats available. The number of seats reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) is 8, seats reserved for Other Backward Classes is 27, and seats for General Category for Indian Nationals is 50.

Reservation of Seats in Eight other AIIMS:

  • There is an intake of 100 students in the eight new AIIMS (viz: Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Nagpur, and Guntur) and 50 students each in AIIMS Nagpur (Maharashtra) & for Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) the reservation policy for the Indian Nationals for ST, SC, and OBC is 7.5%, 15%, and 27% respectively.
  • A 5% reservation for Person with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) in AIIMS MBBS as per provision of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 shall be provided on horizontal basis, in the seats available. Subjected to Medical fitness by Medical board of the Institute.
  • To avail the benefits of reservation for AIIMS MBBS 2023, a candidate is required to produce all the relevant certificates in the counselling and registration process.

AIIMS MBBS is a national level exam and the competition is really high. Candidates need to prepare well for the exam. Question will come from the basics of NCERT 11th and 12th class Chemistry, Physics and Biology syllabus. AIIMS MBBS Important Notice

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam is one of the most reputed entrance tests conducted every year by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) all over India. AIIMS MBBS examination is conducted for admissions to the MBBS course in the various AIIMS institutes. As per the latest notification from the central government, AIIMS MBBS examination conducted along with NEET for providing Medical seats till date are cancelled. NEET 2023 will be the common entrance examination for all medical courses including MBBS.

The AIIMS MBBS test is the gateway to a flourishing career in medical sciences and successful admission in MBBS courses. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a family of seven academic institutions offering various medical courses; MBBS, MD, MS, Nursing, Paramedical & Health Science.

There are very limited seats, only 672 in number, so the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the entrance test. Out of total 672 seats, 72 seats are covered by AIIMS-DELHI and the rest 600 seats are divided across 6 AIIMS Institutes across the country.
