GSVM Medical College, Kanpur is one of the finest Medical Colleges in Uttar Pradesh. It was established in the year 1955, This institution was inaugurated by Dr. Sampoorna Nand, Chief Minister of U.P on Dec. 13, 1959. To begin with, the college was affiliated with Lucknow University and later in 1968. and since then has been imparting equality education in various Medical Programmes. This college has been approved by the Medical Council of India [MCI]. It facilitates modernly equipped classrooms and focuses on the practical knowledge of the students. Admission 2022-23 is under process. The college considers NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS, UPCPMT, and UPPGMEE Entrance Exams for admission to various UG, PG, diploma & doctorate courses. 

GSVM Medical College, Kanpur is named after Late Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, a great freedom fighter, who lost his life in Kanpur in March 1931. This was the first medical college of U.P. established in India, forming a landmark in the annals of medical education in the state of U.P. It is one of the five medical colleges in India established under the second five-year plan.

GSVM Medical College Admission

Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College [GSVM], Kanpur admission 2022-23 are under process. Admissions happen online and students must apply for the application. Most of the courses have a dedicated entrance exam for the candidates and its score is taken as the basis of admission. The college considers UPCPMT, UPPGMEE, NEET UG, NEET PG and NEET SS entrance exams for admission to various UG, PG, diploma & doctorate courses.

M.B.B.S Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates must have passed the 12th class (Intermediate) examination.
• Selection will be done on the basis of the U.P. State Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT) conducted by the Director General Medical Education and Training, U.P. for 85% of seats.
• NEET UG will be accepted for the remaining 15% of seats.
• Three seats are reserved for nominees of the government of other states.
• Reservation of seats for SC/ ST and other backward classes is made according to UP government guidelines.

M.D/ M.S Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must have completed an internship before admission to these courses.
• Selection will be done on the basis of the U.P. State Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (UPPGMEE) for 50% seats of in the state.
• NEET PG will be accepted for the rest of 50% of the seats.
• Reservation of 50% of UP state seats for SC/ST /OBC is made according to UP government guidelines.

M.Ch/ D.M Eligibility Criteria

• Selection will be done on the basis of All India D.M./ M.Ch. entrance test conducted by the Director General of Medical Education and Training of UP state.
• Candidates who have passed their M.D. (Medicine) or M. S. (Surgery) course are eligible for the entrance test.

• Dashmottar Schopalrship - The students need to meet certain basic criteria for this scholarship facility. This scholarship is awarded to those students whose family income is less than 2 LPA.
