NEET PG 2021 Tie Breaker Criteria
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) laid down a few points to clear the tie situation. The tie-breaking criteria specified the situations in which a candidate applied the rules and resolved the situation. The detailed tie-breaking criteria are as follows:
- Candidates with less number of negative answers were preferred.
- If the above step did not resolve the tie, the authorities acknowledged the candidate with higher marks in Part C.
- If the tie situation persisted, the candidate with less negative marking in Part C was considered.
- Suppose the tie situation still prevailed; the candidate with higher marks in Part B was considered.
- Further, the candidate with less negative marking in Part B was considered in a tie situation.
- If the situation persisted, the candidate with the higher score in Part A was allowed to proceed further.
- If the situation still existed like the other steps, the candidate with less negative marking in part A was given preference.
- Lastly, the older candidate was considered if the situation remained unresolved.
