To understand total ranking in NEET PG 2024, candidates should have a basic understanding of percentile rank and percentage rank. The candidate's performance about other exam candidates is shown by the percentile rank. The percentile rank is a comparative analysis of how the candidates performed with other people.
The candidate's exam performance is the only thing the percentage rank reveals. Exam qualification for general category candidates requires a 50th percentile score. The 40th percentile is the cutoff for SC/ST/OBC.

All India Rank (AIR)
This is a comparison of the candidate's rank to that of others. The AIR determines the candidate's overall position in comparison to other applicants who took the exam.
All India 50% Quota (AIR) Rank
This determines the rank of candidates who applied for less than 50% of available AIQ seats. According to the reservation policy, 50% of AIQ seats are allocated in government colleges across the country. The remaining 50% of seats are allocated for candidates with residency in their respective states.

For the NEET PG 2021 exam, over 1.7 lakh applicants submitted applications and 93% of them turned up for the test. The highest mark was earned by the top performer, who received 714 marks.

According to the statistics cited above, there are occasions when multiple candidates receive the same score on the NEET PG exam. In the event of tied scores, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) prepares a merit list according to certain guidelines. If two or more students have the same exam score, the following NEET PG 2022 tiebreaker criteria are applied in descending order to determine the winner.
- A candidate will be ranked higher on the NEET PG Rank List if they have given the least incorrect answers across Sections A, B, and C combined.
- The candidate who receives more marks in Section C will be given a higher rank.
- The candidate with the least errors in Section C will be given a higher ranking.
- The applicant with the higher score in Section B will be given a higher ranking.
- The candidate who has the fewest mistakes in Section B will be given a better rank.
- The applicant with the higher Section A score will be given preference.
- A better rating will be given to the applicant who has the fewest wrong answers in Section A.
- Finally, the older applicant will receive a higher ranking.
NEET PG Counselling 2024
NEET PG Counseling 2024 is set up for 50% of all seats under the AIQ based on the NBA's list of NEET PG Rank. Admissions to Central/Deemed Universities, ESIC (Employees State Insurance Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research), and AFMC would be extended to qualified applicants (Armed Forces Medical College).
Qualified candidates must register for the counselling process and indicate their desired college or institution and the reservation criterion to participate in the NEET PG Seat Allotment procedure. Candidates must also list their selected Postgraduate programme of study for which they are applying.
