The students preparing for the NEET entrance exam must know the Physical Chemistry chapters for NEET along with the weightage they carry. The syllabus has been amended for 2024.
The Physical Chemistry chapters for NEET 2024 must be known well by the students preparing for the entrance exam. There has been a revision in the NEET syllabus for 2024. Along with the change in syllabus, the weightage has also changed. The students must carefully read the weightage of marks for each chapter.
The exam pattern of NEET includes 50 questions in the Chemistry section. 35 questions are given from Section A and 15 questions from Section B. The examinees will have to answer 45 questions out of the total 50 questions. 9 units from the old syllabus have been deleted to form the new syllabus.
The deleted units include those in Physical, Organic, and Inorganic chemistry. The date for NEET exam 2024 has been officially announced to take place on May 5, 2024.
The entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The official syllabus for the exam is scheduled to be released in Dec 2023. However, the students must start their revision work while sticking to the weightage.

NEET Chemistry 2024 Syllabus for Class 11 & Class 12
The students must be very well acquainted with the syllabus before starting their preparation. The chemistry syllabus for NEET 2024 includes three sections - Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry.
- Physical Chemistry: The Physical Chemistry section consists of numerical-problem solving. This section involves solving numerical problems such as the molecular weight, atomic weight, empirical weight and other related problems. This section constitutes 32% of the total questions in the Chemistry paper.
- Organic Chemistry: This section of Chemistry includes the nomenclatures and other organic concepts. This section constitutes 30% of the total questions in the Chemistry paper.
- Inorganic Chemistry: This constitutes the major part of the Chemistry paper. Inorganic Chemistry carries 38% of the total questions.
The total marks allotted to the Chemistry paper in NEET is 180 marks. The candidates must know the topics thoroughly so that they miss out on nothing. It is advisable for the students to be thorough with the syllabus and weightage for all the chapters.
