The RGPV grading system follows the credit-based model. The grades points range from 0-10, following the grade of A+ to W. Any student scoring between 91-100% will get a 10-point grade, that is equivalent to an A+ grade.
RGPV Grading System 2024: RGPV follows a credit-based grading system in which candidates' marks are evaluated based on the percentage they secure in their exams. A candidate scoring between 91-100% will have a grade point of 10 with an A+ grade, and likewise. Both theoretical and practical grades are calculated using the same scale in the RGPV grading system 2024.
Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) is a technical university that came into existence due to the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13 of 1998. The UGC has approved the institution, and the NAAC has given it an A+ accreditation.
Almost 400 RGPV-affiliated colleges and universities provide undergraduate, graduate, diploma/polytechnic, and doctoral-level education.
RGPV Credit-Based Grading System Marks Distribution
Each student enrolled in a programme will receive a grade from the faculty member responsible for that subject or paper. The grades given to students are determined by their performance on numerous tests, home assignments, quizzes, lab assignments, internships, class performance, midterm exams, and regular attendance.

RGPV Awards of Credits and Grades
- Each programme must be suggested by the relevant Board of Studies and authorized by the standing committee of the Academic Council/Academic Council and the Executive Council together with its weighting in units and equivalent credits. Every semester may only offer authorized programmes.
- A student's academic performance in a subject will be continuously assessed through tutorial work, practical, home assignments, mid-semester tests, fieldwork, seminars, internships, quizzes, end-semester examinations, and regularity, as suggested by the relevant Board of Studies and approved by the standing committee of the Academic Council/Academic Council and Executive Council of the University.

- Project work and practical training/internships are to be treated as practical subjects.
- The department will be expected to hold at least two midterm exams for the theory block during each semester.

RGPV Grade Sheet
- Even semester examinations have grade sheets for students in the A-B group (and every odd semester grade sheet for students in the B-A group) must also include the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for that semester.
- The course's final exam grade sheet must also include the division granted, the comparable percentage marks, and the cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
- A candidate (B-A group) who appears in the seventh semester following the eighth semester will not be given a grade sheet or provisional certificate until he has completed all of the semesters.
RGPV Promotion Rule
Following the guidelines below, a candidate who has been accepted into the DDP programme will be promoted to the higher class:
- A minimum cumulative grade point average CGPA of 5.0 and a grade of C are needed for the degree to be awarded.
- The program's minimal passing grade for a particular topic is a D. The candidate must, however, independently receive a grade of D or higher on the subject's theory and practical end-of-semester exams.
- At least one external examiner from outside the institute must always be present for practical exams.
- A candidate will not be admitted to the following higher year if they do not receive a minimum grade of D in more than two courses (theory and practical of the same subject will be treated as two subjects).
- The outcome of the final semester will be announced only if the candidate has successfully completed all of the preceding semesters.
- If a candidate has completed all of the program's requirements by the end of the 10th semester, nevertheless, having fallen short of earning a minimum grade point average of 5.0, such a candidate shall be permitted to make up the grade point deficit by reappearing in a maximum of two theory papers from subjects from any of the semesters in the subsequent examination.

Semester Back Rule in RGPV Grading System 2024
- If a student fails more than five subjects in a given year, they will not be advanced to the next higher year (the theory and practical portions of the same subject will be counted as two subjects).
- For admission to the third year's fifth semester coursework, a student's cumulative grade point average (CGPA) must be at least 5.0.
- A student will not be permitted to enroll in the seventh semester (fourth year) studies if they have not completed the first and second-year exams with a minimum CGPA of 5.0.
- A student may raise their grade point average by retaking a maximum of three subjects if they don't achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 5.0. (theory and practical of a subject shall be treated as separate subjects).
- For the purpose of awarding a degree, a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 5.0 is required.
- Any failures in the topics covered in the even semester will not be taken into account when promoting a student who has filed for admission to the B-A Group for the even semester (and who will take the even semester test).

RGPV Attendance Rules
Candidates who are appearing for any semester examination as regular students are required to attend 75% of the lectures given and the practical classes held separately in each subject of the course syllabus, provided that a shortfall in attendance of up to 10% and a further 5% can be excused by the department head and vice-chancellor, respectively, for good cause.
RGPV Final Merit List
The University will only provide the final merit list of the top three applicants in the order of merit following the main exam of the final semester for the DDP programme, based on the combined performance of all the semesters. The top three candidates who earned at least a first division and completed all semesters in a single attempt will be listed on the merit list.
