Converting CBSE CGPA to percentage requires students to add the grades of 5 mandatory subjects, divide the total by 5, and then multiply the CGPA obtained by 9.5.
The CBSE class 10th results and CBSE class 12th results were declared on May 13, 2024. The marks were declared in a CGPA format, also known as the Cumulative Grade Point Average.
CGPA represents the student's overall average grade point total, excluding the additional sixth subject. According to the marking scheme, a D grade is required to pass the board examination. Further, students who received grades of E1 or E2 must re-appear for the CBSE Compartment Exams 2024.
How to Convert CBSE CGPA to Percentage?
After reviewing the results from the previous five years, the CBSE Board determines the average marks of all candidates who scored between 91 and 100. Students who appear in the CBSE class 10th and CBSE class 12th board exams can follow the below-mentioned steps to convert CBSE CGPA to percentage.
- Step 1: Add all the grades received in the 5 mandatory subjects.
- Step 2: Divide the total sum by 5.
- Step 3: The result will be the total CGPA of the student.
- Step 4: CGPA should be multiplied by 9.5.
- Step 5: The acquired result will be the percentage of the student.

CBSE CGPA to Percentage Conversion Certificate
The Central Board of Secondary Education provides the CBSE CGPA to Percentage conversion certificate. The conversion certificate includes the exam marks, where CGPA is converted to percentages. As per the process to compute the percentage, the grade points are calculated for 5 subjects, excluding the additional subject. The students can compute by applying the formula, GP of the subjects multiplied by 9.5.
CBSE Grading System
Based on a scale of one to ten, the CBSE grading system assigns grades. Every subject's grade is converted to an accurate count of 10. The allotted grades for students are mostly from A to E.
