IIM Eligibility and Admission Criteria 2025
The selection process for IIMs is based on the CAT exam score and the GD-PI process that occurs after that. Yet, this is only the tip of the iceberg. The candidates who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate or are in their final year can apply for the CAT exam and other MBA colleges.
The details for the admission shortlist and eligibility criteria are given below.
- CAT score is the essential criterion. The candidates must have a high percentile to seek admission into an IIM. The IIM cutoff is released every academic year for the students to know if they are eligible to get into the respective IIMs.
- Class X and XII aggregate scores are tabulated to see whether the candidate is worthy of admission into an IIM. The scores for these classes have less weightage than the CAT Score.
- WAT (Written Ability Test), GD (Group Discussion), and PI (Personal Interview) is conducted for each candidate, and the conducting body gives scores based on their performance.
- Academic Diversity (Engineering/Non-Engineering), Gender Diversity (Male/Female), and Work Experience are also counted for the student's final score to gain admission into any of the IIMs.
