Alagappa College of Technology, situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is a distinguished institution providing higher education in Engineering, Technology, and allied Sciences. It was established in 1944 under the University of Madras and became part of Anna University in 1978. Anna University, founded on September 4, 1978, serves as a unitary university offering education and research opportunities in areas relevant to societal and industrial needs. The university promotes research, disseminates knowledge, and facilitates collaboration between academic and industrial sectors. Anna University was formed by integrating four prestigious technical institutions in Chennai: College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) – Established in 1794 Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) – Established in 1949 Alagappa College of Technology (ACT) – Established in 1944 School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) – Established in 1957 History of Alagappa College of Technology Founded in 1944, the Alagappa College of Technology came into existence through the philanthropy of Vallal Dr. Alagappa Chettiar, who donated ₹500,000 to Dr. A. Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar, then Vice Chancellor of Madras University. Dr. Chettiar envisioned a college specializing in emerging technology disciplines. In recognition of his generosity, the University of Madras named the institution "Alagappa College of Technology" and introduced courses in Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, and Leather Technology. To honor his contributions, the university awarded him an honorary LL.D. degree during a special convocation.

Admissions Instructions:

Step 1: Portal Registration

1. Click on “New Registration”.
2. Fill in the following details:
• Application Number
• Date of Birth
• Admission Year
• Registered Mobile Number (used during counselling).
3. Click “Send OTP”. If the OTP does not arrive, wait for 30 seconds and click “Resend OTP”.
4. Enter the OTP and create a password that meets these criteria:
• Length: 8–15 characters.
• Includes at least one lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number, and special character.
5. Log in with your credentials.

Once logged in, verify the details submitted during counselling. Report any errors during admission. Use the menu on the left-hand side to proceed.

Step 2: Mobile Number and Email Registration

Register your mobile number and email for communication purposes and to display them on your SMART IDENTITY CARD.

1. Go to “Registration -> Mobile Number”.
2. Enter your mobile number and click “Send OTP”. If no OTP is received, wait 30 seconds and click “Regenerate OTP”.
3. Enter the OTP and click “Verify OTP”.
4. Navigate to “Registration -> e-mail”.
5. Enter your email ID and click “Send e-Mail OTP”.
6. Enter the OTP and click “Verify OTP”.

Step 3: Submit Profile and Academic Information

1. Enter your profile and academic details. You can modify these until you confirm them. Ensure all information is accurate.
2. Upload the required documents:
• Resolution: 75 dpi
• Size: Below 150 KB for documents, 100 KB for photos
• Format: PDF for documents, JPEG for photos
• Avoid scanning with mobile or cam scanners. Ensure clarity and readability.
3. Confirm the uploaded documents.

Step 4: Payment of Admission and Semester Fees

Complete the payment online to proceed with admission.

1. Select the “Fee Payment” menu.
2. Check the payment details.
3. Choose a payment gateway and click “Pay Now”.
4. Upon successful payment, the receipt will be available in your login. If payment is debited but no receipt is generated, wait 24 hours or contact the CeGov office.

Refund Policy

If you discontinue after admission, only the Caution Deposit will be refunded, regardless of class commencement.
