Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women was Founded by Padma Bhushan Dr.T.S.Avinashilingam under the auspices of the Avinashilingam Education Trust in 1957 with 45 women students. Avinashilingam University for Women works in different schools like Department of Resource Management, Department of Food Service Management and Dietetics, etc.
