BLDE (Deemed to be University) was established on February 29, 2008, to deliver quality medical education and address the healthcare needs of North Karnataka's underserved regions. Its sole constituent, Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, founded in 1986, operates on a 71.2-acre campus with 24 departments and a 1218-bed teaching hospital.
The university holds an ‘A’ Grade accreditation by NAAC (Cycle-2) with a CGPA of 3.09 and is recognized under the ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements by the Government of India. Its teaching hospital is NABH-accredited at the entry-level.

BLDE University Courses Eligibility Criteria 

• Students belonging from General category must secure 50% to be eligible for the examination
• Students belonging from SC/ ST & OBC Category must secure 40 % to be eligible for the examination
• Candidates with disability must secure 45% to be eligible for the examination
