Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed the secondary examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Mathematics, and Physical Science/ Science/ Science & Technology among others as subjects securing at least 35% marks. Those who pass class 10 with 45% marks in aggregate and qualify in JEXPO under West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD) in the current year are also eligible for admission.

Polytechnic Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the Polytechnic course at BBIT Kolkata is based on the merit of the students.

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have secured at least an aggregate of 45% marks and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. A candidate can also have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved category students) in the appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology or passed B.Sc from a recognized university as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved category students) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.

B.Tech Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the B.Tech course at BBIT Kolkata is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or JEE (Main) examination. For Lateral Entry, admission is made on the basis of current year merit and the preference of candidates in the Common Entrance Examination for admission through the Lateral Entry Scheme (i.e. JELET) conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.
