Burdwan University was established in 1994 in West Bengal. It has a good infrastructure of its own. It is situated in Gopalbag campus. A separate beautiful building has been established for Directorate of distance education which houses all the administrative departments.

Burdwan University - Distance Education Eligibility Criteria:

Course	Eligibility
M.A	Candidate Should have completed a minimum of 2nd class Hons and completed their 10+2 course from any university Candidates must have completed three years Degree Certificate by securing at least 35% aggregate Candidates must have qualified 2nd class Hons Graduate after pursuing an undergraduate degree Candidates should be passed in Bachelor Degree with at least 30% mark in it Candidates who have qualified B.Sc/B.Com/BA should secure at least 30% marks in it counseling
MA [Mathematics]	Candidates should have completed a minimum of a 2nd class B.A, Hons. Graduation with Mathematics as one of the subject. Candidates must have qualified 3 years Degree Certificate course with at least 35% marks as aggregate. Candidates must have qualified the 2nd class, Hons. Graduate after pursuing an undergraduate degree Candidates must have qualified Bachelor Degree with at least 30% marks in it. Candidates must have qualified Bachelor Degree from a recognized Institute and also should the a one-year bridge course in commerce and thus should pass undergraduate degree with at least 40% marks in it.
MBA	Student should complete their graduation from any recognized university They should qualify CAT/ CMAT or any other management aptitude test
M.Sc [Computer Science]	Candidate should qualify B.Sc [hons,] in Computer Science or Candidates should have qualified in Bachelor in Computer Application or Candidates should have qualified Bachelor in Science [Hons] with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Chemistry with Computer Science as one of the common subjects. Candidates must have qualified Department of Electronics and Accreditation Classes. Candidates must qualify Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application from state council of technical education.
B.Ed.	Candidates should have atleast 45% in undergraduate level or They should be eligible if they have a Diploma in Pre School Education/ Elementary education/Arts education/Physical education Candidates should have a Bachelor in Elementary Education/ Physical Education
