Canara Engineering College is a completely self-financed institution that started in the year 2001 established by the Canara Group of Institutions which was founded by the late Ammembal Subba Rao Pai. The college has been affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, approved by AICTE and notified by the Government of Karnataka. The college aims to provide excellence in technical education based on ability, self-confidence, knowledge and logical creative thinking. The institute also encourages students to actively take part in sports and games in order to develop the student’s all-round personality. The campus consists of a library with more than 43000 books of different genres, two canteens. The college provides hostel accommodation to the students with basic facilities like water purifier, cooler, tv, telephone, on-site medical health-care, reading room, etc. Also, the institute provides Placement assistance, Employability skill enhancement training, etc. Around 380 students got placed in from Canara Engineering College in the academic year 2017-2018.

The Canara Engineering College was started with 180 setas in 3 engineering branches. Now the college has 8 sections with 504 seat intake including 24 seats of SNQ (Supernumerary Quota ) under the B.E., M.Tech. and research programmes in Electronics and Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, etc. The college has a total intake of 480 under the UG programmes and 18 for PG courses. Through the CET cell, 40% of the seats are being distributed to the meritorious students, 30% of the seats will come under NRI/Management quota. The remaining 30% of seats are reserved for general merit and ‘Konkani’ by KRLMPCA quota. Students are selected for the Canara Engineering College admission 2020 through CET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority, General Merit or through Management Quota.

Canara Engineering College Admission Fees

Under the B.E. admission, Canara Engineering College fee structure various for Karnataka students and non-Karnataka students. 

• The total fee for first year B.E. Karnataka students is INR 75,080 and the admission fee is INR 2,000.
• For non-Karnataka students, the first year B.E. tuition fee is INR 1,00,000, University fees is INR 9,240 and the admission fee is INR 2,000.

Entrance Exams Accepted by Canara Engineering College

Canara Engineering College B.E. Admission 2020

Admission to various B.E. courses under the Canara Engineering College admission 2020 requires a minimum qualification of PUC 1,2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent qualification.   - The Canara Engineering College accepts the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority. The college also accepts exams such as COMEDK-UGET and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for the B.E admission 2020.

• What are the eligibility criteria for M.Tech admission at Canara Engineering College?
  - Admission to M.Tech requires a minimum of 50% marks in all semesters or years of the degree examination. In case of ST, SC, Category 1 students, a minimum of 45% marks is required in graduation. Also, students must have a valid GATE scorecard.
