Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, [CSKHPKV] Palampur is a leading Institute in imparting education in the area of hill agriculture in India. The arduous work of the University has considerably influenced the agriculture of Himachal Pradesh. The University provides elite planting materials to the farmers of the state and other hill states like Arunachal Pradesh.

The Agriculture University Palampur undertakes several research projects. The scientists/teachers at the University are responsible for sponsored projects from various funding agencies. The University has so far released 155 improved varieties of different crops (Wheat 24, Paddy 23, Maize 9, Buckwheat 2, Barley 6, Fodder 12, Vegetables 29, Pulses 24, Oilseeds 23, Sugarcane 1, and Tea 2).

The planning, implementation and coordination of various extension education programmes of all the departments of the constituent colleges and research stations are done by the Directorate of Extension Education. The courses offered by the University have been designed to develop entrepreneurial skills among the agricultural graduates. The Graduates are also given rural and industrial training. CSKHPKV Infrastructure is Top-Notch.

• A Students’ Counseling & Placements Cell was established in 2007 to help students gain better placement opportunities.

• CSKHPKV Admissions to UG and PG programs are granted on the basis of Palampur University Entrance test 2018 and the marks of qualifying examination.
• 60% weightage is given to Agriculture University Palampur Entrance Test Result and 40% is given to the qualifying examination marks.

Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya Hostel Details:

• College of Agriculture is a residential college and requires all students to stay in the accommodation provided by the college.
• There are separate hostels for boys and girls.
• There are separate hostels for UG and PG programs.
• There are 10 hostels of which 5 are for girls, 4 are for boys.
• There is one International (boys) hostel.
• A faculty member is always assigned to work as the Warden of each hostel.
