Children’s University founded in 2009 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat is a state autonomous research body under the Children’s University Act passed by then CM Narendra Modi. Recognised by the UGC, the university provides for research, education, training and extension in the best interest of the children. Gujarat University offers postgraduate, doctoral, diploma and certificate programmes conducted in English and Gujarati media. Since its mandate is to build a child friendly environment, training and research at the university focuses on the use of newer strategies.

The programs available at Children’s University are Certification for INR 1500, MA for INR 4500 per year, M.Sc for INR 10000 per year, PhD for INR 20000 per year, M.Phil for INR15000-16000 in total, PG Diploma for INR 10000 in total and MSW for INR 4500 per year. Suitability covers from class ten passed to post graduate qualifications. Most course application periods are between 21 May to 13 June 2024. The university delivers a full time and the part time learning modes for the children's development advance fields.

Children’s University provides admissions in postgraduate, and Doctoral levels. In the case of admissions to PG courses, a candidate is awarded on the basis of his performances in the affiliated bachelor’s degree. The applications for admission should be submitted online only by the Gujarati and English Medium candidates on the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) portal (gcas.gujgov.edu.in) along with a non-refundable fee of ₹300. To pursue Ph.D., students need to take their own Children’s Research University Ph.D. Entrance Test (CRU PET) for admission.
