The DMCH came into existence in 1964 the Arya Medical College became fully pledged MBBS College, which came to be known as Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH). The management was taken over by the managing society of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, and industrialist Shri H. R. Dhanda became its founder president. DMCH Ludhiana is a tertiary care teaching hospital. The institution is accredited by MCI, & it is affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab. Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) Ludhiana, Punjab, India is a 1326 bedded (Inclusive 800 teaching beds) tertiary care teaching hospital in North India. The institution has an imposing complex of modern buildings and is equipped with all kinds of modern facilities for providing excellent care to the patients and training to the undergraduate and postgraduate students. All the clinical departments, along with the diagnostic laboratories provide round-the-clock service at the campus. Applicants who have qualified NEET UG conducted by CBSE are eligible for admission. A student is eligible for entry to the course after clearing the 12th class (Intermediate) examination. Reservation of seats for scheduled caste/ tribes and other backward classes are made according to state government guidelines. NEET (UG) is a national level test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the 2nd week of May and is a pen-paper test of 3 hours’ duration. The fee structure for B.Sc Nursing is INR 120,000 per annum.

The college offers a few postgraduate programs in Doctor Of Medicine (MD), Master Of Surgery (MS), and PG Diploma Courses. All the diploma students are full-time postgraduate students attached to the concerned department. Duties and responsibilities are the same as MD/ M.S. students. Eligibility and merit of a candidate for admission against any PG seat will be determined by the Admission Committee, strictly as per rules and regulations laid down in the Punjab Govt. Notification as published in the prospectus and all other such documents as are required with the admission application form.

At the postgraduate level, the college offers Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) programs with various specializations. The duration period for each of the specializations is three years. Candidates who have completed MBBS and internship are eligible to apply for admission into MS/ MD/ PG Diploma courses. Applicants can get admission based on the NEET PG result. NEET-PG is a computer-based test of 3 hours 30 minutes duration and has 300 MCQs to attempt. Eligible candidates will have to appear in NEET PG conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE). However, to meet the eligibility criteria candidates must hold Graduate Degree in MBBS from any recognized university. M.Sc Nursing offers a total of 25 seats. The course fee for MD in Dayanand Medical College ranges from INR 200,000 per annum to INR 1,200,000 per annum.

The college also provides super speciality courses like Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch). Both programs are offered under eight different specializations. All these courses are for three years. The selection from amongst the eligible candidates in each super-speciality courses shall be made entirely based on marks scored in last qualifying examination followed by personal counselling. However, candidates must hold an MD/ MS degree from a recognized university to get admission to these courses. The candidate should have passed MD/ MS from any recognized university.
