Placements & Internships : After 4.5 years, of course, there is a 1year compulsory internship in Government Medical College of Akola. A monthly stipend of around Rs. 7000 to 8000 is allowed.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility for this Government Medical College of Akola is decided through NEET entrance exam. A candidate must have passed intermediate(10+2) in science stream with biology as a subject. Age of candidate should be more than 16 years. A b.sc graduate in biology can also apply. Entrance exam has three subjects biology, chemistry, physics so focus must be on them. Cutoff varies for different categories. A general candidate can expect cutoff around 75-80%. Selection and admission are through merit list depending upon candidate's performance in the exam.

Fees & Scholarships : Fees per year in Government Medical College of Akola is Rs. 65,000/- for general candidate. Other categories have scholarship according to their annual home income. Loans are usually not needed but in a case of low income for a general candidate, it may be an option.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for MBBS seat selection was through MH-CET. Seats are allocated on basis of merit and caste reservation. The typical cutoffs for my college were 430 for OBC, 250 for SC, 450 for OPEN, 400 for NT. 

Fees & Scholarships : An average of 20-30% students gets scholarships. The educational loans are available from HDFC, SBI and many other banks meeting the financial needs of students.

Academics & Faculty : The class timings are from 9 am to 5 pm. The overall experience was good in GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE ,AKOLA.    

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 6 hostels. The quality of food is good. The labs and libraries are well equipped in GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE ,AKOLA.  

Clubs & Associations : The main festival is the cultural fest. The college life is good in GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE ,AKOLA.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for MBBS admissions in our college was to have physics, chemistry and biology as a compulsorily opted subject for eligibility of NEET entrance.  The entrance examination we gave was NEET. The typical cutoff for me being an open candidate was 50% or above.

Fees & Scholarships : My course fee per year is Rs 70,000. There are no scholarship options available for open category candidates apart from merit-based scholarships. An average of 30 students gets placed. I have opted for a loan from Canara Bank through my student account for my studies.

Academics & Faculty : The teaching pattern is fairly good. The overall experience at Government Medical College, [GMC] Akola is nice.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is 5 girls hostel. The hostel facilities are nice. The hostel fee is Rs 60,000. The PGs around college are expensive. The food in college is unhygienic and costs Rs 50/- per meal. The quality of classrooms is poor. Library is good. Labs are unclean. Wifi facility is not available in Government Medical College, [GMC] Akola.

Clubs & Associations : A music club and a student association are present in Government Medical College, [GMC] Akola. College life, in general, is good.

Placements & Internships : Around Rs 6000 is provided as stipend in internship. There is nothing like placement in medical but we have 1year compulsory m.o. ship bond.

Academics & Faculty :   Class timings are from 8am to 4pm. Teaching method is average Overall experiece is normal but not so great.

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee is Rs. 48,400/- per year No option for general category students. Loans may be available but i have tried for it.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Adequate hostel facility is available. Rs 4000 per year is the hostel fee and Mess charge is Rs 2500/ per month. Quality of classrooms, labs, libray are average with no wifi.

Clubs & Associations : SAMC is there as a student union. Ganesh festival and Kshitij is celebrated every year in our college. Life in college is good.
