That said, the future looks very bright as there is a strongly established placement cell and with GNLU being a top level law university, offers for a summer internship from organizations like RBI and Competition Commission of India have already flowed in.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Like any other MBA program, you'll have to get a good score in CAT examination to join Gujarat National Law University, Gandhi Nagar.
If you're selected, you'll go for the next round which includes the usual i.e. group discussion and interview.
Additional to this, they'd also make you take something called the 'Legal Aptitude Test' since the course is a combination of finance with business laws.
You'll have to have a bachelor's degree and hold at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates from all the streams are welcomed, except for fine arts.
Fees & Scholarships :
The current fee structure at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhi Nagar is Rs. 1.5 lakhs per year, although these figures are subjected to changes.
Academics & Faculty :
The class timings at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhi Nagar are 10 am to 5 pm, with a half an hour break in-between for lunch. This looks exhausting, but you'll eventually get used to it. There are almost 3 classes per day, each class lasting for 2 hours. There will be a short 5 minutes break after an hour ends for refreshment.
The evaluation method is as follows:
40% weight is given to the internal tests, which includes research work, role playing, giving presentations, class tests etc.
60% weight is given to the final examination.
The method of teaching is mostly interactive in nature. There is a lot of dialogue involved between students and professors, which makes attending classes a joyful experience.
Teacher, especially the ones who teach law subjects, are exceptionally brilliant so you'll not have to worry about not understanding these subjects at all.
In fact, all the teachers make sure that they teach in simple language as they understand that MBA students come from different backgrounds and everyone has a different approach.
We also get 'tutorial sessions' when there is no class planned on a particular day so we can go to the teacher of any subject we face an issue in.
Also, there will be a lot of guest lectures planned, who give us a good idea of what to expect from the industry.
