IISER Pune was set up by the Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development to combine exceptional research with undergraduate coaching. The institute represents a unique initiative in India in which coaching and education are incorporated with ultra-modern research to nurture both curiosity and creativity in an intellectually vibrant environment of research. The institute was declared "the Institute of National Importance" by an Act of Parliament in the year 2012.

IISER Pune Admission

IISER Pune admission 2024 gives an integrated master's program, an integrated doctoral program, and a doctoral program. Admission to the master's degree is through the IISER joint admission process which presents 3 channels for admission: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced, and state and central boards applicants, which require a further IISER Aptitude Test. 

IISER Pune Eligibility Criteria

IISER Pune eligibility criteria depend on the type of course chosen. Mentioned below are a few courses along with their eligibility criteria:

BS+MS Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate applying through the KVPY fellowship channel should have qualified 10+2.
• The candidate applying through JEE Advanced channel should have qualified 10+2 with 75% marks.
• The candidate applying through the SCB channel should have appeared in IAT.

M.Sc + Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have a B.Sc/BE/B.Tech degree with 6.0 CGPA.
• The candidate should have a valid score in JAM/NBHM/JEST.

Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have 60% marks in the Master's Degree from a recognized university 
• Clear the personal interview
