IIT Kharagpur campus has been carved out with a stunning panorama of flora and water bodies for morning workouts, evening walks and spending some time in isolation drinking in the freshness of the campus. In addition, the campus provides various facilities to the students for a better learning experience. More details regarding the IIT Kharagpur infrastructure are given below.
Counseling Centre: The counselling centre provides a wide range of services, including psychological examination, individual therapy, group therapy, and medication and management. It has full-time clinical psychologists on staff and a visiting psychiatrist. The centre has also begun an outreach effort to form a team of trained wing representatives from each residence hall who can assist students in need. In addition to individual sessions, the centre intends to hold group sessions to address life skills such as assertiveness, problem-solving, anger management, self-awareness, and interpersonal relationships.
Library: The IIT Kharagpur library is one of the largest & finest in Asia. Over 3.5 lakhs of documents and subscriptions to about 100+ journals are available at IIT Kharagpur. It also has access to about 26000 online full-text journals and about 135000+ e-books for students and staff members.
Hospital: The IIT Kharagpur campus has a hospital with 32 beds, including a two-bed intensive care unit, cabins, and an isolation ward. B C Roy Technology Hospital serves the campus community 24 hours a day, seven days a week through its Out Patient Department (OPD), Indoor Wards, and Emergency Unit. Around 7000 patients visit the B C Roy Technology Hospital's outpatient department every month. In addition, the hospital offers a pharmacy store that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It also has a video-conferencing system for telemedicine. Biomedical waste from B C Roy Technology Hospital is disposed of regularly under a contract with the West Bengal State Government Environment Department.
Hostel: The campus of the institute is entirely residential. Quarters are given to faculty and personnel. Guests may be accommodated in guest houses while the residential unit is assigned and renovated (if required). The IIT Kharagpur hostel has subsidised electricity and water supply 24 hours a day and internet access through LAN and Wi-Fi. If necessary, the resident may apply for a land phone connection at the institute.
Bank and ATM: IIT Kharagpur is close to the State Bank of India, which offers foreign currency services. On the first floor of the main building is the Syndicate Bank. The Punjab National Bank is located in the Tech Market, where commerce is done in the afternoon. State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Syndicate Bank, and Axis Bank have set up seven ATM booths across the campus in key areas.
Market Place: The IIT Kharagpur facilities include a tech market with everything from furniture to fresh fruit juice on offer. There are chemists, tailors, booksellers, and photocopying, word processing, and offset printing services in the market. Gole Bazaar is roughly 5 kilometres from the campus. Another market, the IIT-DVC market, is located right on campus.
Canteen: Subway, Cafe Coffee Day, and Baskin Robbins are located on campus. Heritage, Sahara, Dreamland, Veggies, Super-Duper, Tikka, Billoos' Restaurant, and others are among the restaurants. Tea, coffee, soft beverages, and light snacks such as Tikka and PFC are available at a few locations on the institute grounds. There are several other restaurants within a one-kilometre radius of the campus.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Twenty-seven hostels (21 for boys 6 for girls) are there; the hostel fee is 30k/semester which is included in the course fee. The hostel is mandatory for each student. No pg options as the hostel are mandatory. Food is very good, costs Rs.12k/semester, which is included in the course fee. Classrooms (all classrooms are smart classrooms fully air-conditioned, state of the art technology-enabled, 70 Mbps wifi is also available. Labs are also Fully air-conditioned, high-speed wifi enabled, all kinds of smart technology-enabled. Dining halls are very clean and furnished, at a time 200 people can eat. Hostel rooms are very well furnished and neat&clean.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : 1) one has to first clear the specific cut off in Jee Main exam (92 percentile) and then have to secure a rank within 12k (all india rank) in jee advanced.In my time there was an additional criteria of 75% in 12th but that was waived off in 2020. 2) First jee main and after clearing the cut off, I took jee advance 3) 4-6 k All india rank
Placements & Internships : I completed two internships- I) Online pedagogy creator- Rekhi Centre IIT Kharagpur (15/07/2020-15/09/2020); stipend -6k/month ii) subject matter expert and quality control expert in doubtnut (11/11/2020-25/10/2021); stipend - 27k/month 2) Google, Microsoft, DEUTSCHE BANK, Goldman Sachs, Intel, Samsung, Vedanta, TCS, BAJAJ, ACIS Bank, Namura, MasterCard, American Express, Visa and 350 other companies hire from the campus for the role of Software Engineer, analyst, finance, it etc. 3) average salary- 13 LPA (domestic) 70lpA(abroad) Highest salary- 35 LPA (domestic) 1 .2 crore per annum (abroad) 4) Alumni network is very strong, they have a usa foundation for IIT KHARAGPUR.
Fees & Scholarships : Course fee at Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kharagpur is INR 1.5 lakh/semester (if income more than INR 5 lakh/annum),66 k/semester (if parents income is between INR 1-5 lakh/annum), 33k/ semester (if parents income is less than 1 lakh/annum) There are more than 20 scholarship available for students, the main scholarship is MCM, provided by MHRD At an average every year 600 students of the institution get a scholarship from different courses and disciplines. Loams can be easily availed from SBI, Punjab National Bank and Indian Bank from campus branches.
Academics & Faculty : 1) classes are held Monday to Friday (8 am-1 pm and 2pm_6pm), there are 3 exams that take place (class test, mid sem, end sem), 1-2 assignments/subject are given in the semester, from 3rd year onwards projects are given. 2) Quality and the method of teaching is excellent. 3) Overall experience is very good. There are teaching assistants to clear doubts.
Clubs & Associations : As many as 32 societies are present on the campus (robotics society, technology literature society, technology dance society, research society, etc.). Students are selected through an interview/task for these societies. The campus has two main fests- Spring fest (annual cultural fest) and KSHITIJ (Asia's largest techno-management fest). Also, we, the iit KGPians, celebrate Diwali with earthen pots by making big structures of different themes like Mahabharata, which is famously known as Illumination. General championships on sports, quiz, drama, debate take place each year between the residence halls. Intern IIT championship also takes place each year. Life is awesome in general and a bit hectic.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Around 20+ hostels, with good cleanliness, good internet connection, but no coolers/AC allowed. Hostel fees is around 15k per semester including mess fees. Food quality okay, varies from hostel to hostel. No student allowed to live outside campus. Quality of classrooms and labs is also good and developments are also being made.

Fees & Scholarships : The scholarship is not available in Mech. department apart from final year GATE/M.Tech scholarship. Students with CGPA>8 or who have qualified GATE get this scholarship Loans/Scholarships are easily available for students with economy issues from home
Academics & Faculty : Classes daily between 8 am-6 pm. Not continuous. Depends on the time table. Lunchtime from 1-2. Good quality teaching and open subjects for those interested in other departments. A great experience, exposure to real-world problems in day to day life. Not just academic but a place for overall development for people who seek to explore.
Clubs & Associations : Several technical and social clubs exist like E cell, Team Kart, Pravah, Encore, Tech. Dance society etc. Two main college fests Khitij (Technology fest) and spring fest (cultural fest). Apart from them, Illumination is one the best intra hostels competition organised every year during Diwali. No sports fest in college. Overall life is calm and tension-free if you do your work in time. A lot of exposure and opportunities to develop oneself not only technically but personality-wise as well.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Many hostels are there which are very good and the fees are INR 25000 per semester. PGs are also good and other options are there but one should prefer hostels inside the campus. Food quality is good and costs INR 5000 per semester. Quality of classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls, wifi is excellent.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria is passing jee mains and advance examination. Admission process is done only after clearing jee mains and advance examination with a minimum of 75% in 12th board. Jee is the entrance exam. The cutoff varies ac to different courses eg. cut off for computer science is 120-160
Placements & Internships : One can join various companies for internship and the stipend is as per the company. The key companies are Google, Microsoft, TCS, Mahindra, Infosys etc. The average salary is INR 15 lakh per anum. Highest is above INR 1 crore per anum. Almost 90% gets placed. The alumni network is also good.
Fees & Scholarships : The course fee is INR 130000 per semester. Various scholarships are available eg Aditya Birla scholarships. Almost INR 10000 students get scholarships. Yes, loans are needed for middle-class families and the sbi bank provides it easily.
