• B.Tech candidates should have completed 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology as main subjects or equivalent examinations.

• The B.Tech selection process is the second phase of the admission process. In 2025, the Joint Selection Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will schedule the counseling of candidates based on eligibility criteria and seat availability.

• M.Tech candidate with a minimum percentage of marks in the respective subjects in M.Sc/ B.Tech is eligible.
• M.Tech candidates should have a valid GATE rank or scorecard.
• For final-year students can apply provisionally with a valid GATE score and submit the required documents during the interview.
• M.Tech Selection Process candidates with a valid GATE/ GPAT scorecard and who satisfy the eligibility criteria are selected for the interview and counseling process.
• IIT institutes process admission via the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
• The institutes or departments conduct further rounds of written tests and interviews after COAP to fill the remaining unfilled seats.
• M.Sc candidate with minimum marks in the respective subjects in M.Sc is eligible to apply.
• M.Sc candidate should have a valid IIT JAM rank or scorecard.
• Final-year students can apply provisionally with a valid IIT JAM score and submit the required documents during the interview.
• Candidates with valid IIT JAM scorecards and satisfying the eligibility criteria are selected for the interview and counseling process.

IIT  Ropar offers a Ph.D. course the candidate needs to fulfill the minimum requirement for enrollment the eligibility criteria are mentioned below

• P.h.D. candidate should have completed M.Sc or M.Tech with good academic records and/ with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ ST) with a valid GATE/ IIT JAM/ UGC/ CSIR-JRF/ DBT-INSPIRE.
• A candidate with BE/ B.Tech from any IIT institute with an 8.0 CGPA is exempted from GATE qualification.
• A candidate with BE/ B.Tech from any IIT institute with an 8.0 CGPA and above with a valid GATE scorecard.
• A candidate with an M.Sc from any IIT with an 8.0 CGPA is exempted from any national-level entrance examination.
• P.h.D. selection process for IIT Ropar Ph.D. admission 2025 is based on eligibility criteria and a valid GATE score or CSIR-JRF/ UGC/ NBHM. 
• Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria are selected for interview and counseling, while some are exempted from direct admission.

IIT ROPAR APPLICATION PROCESS 2025

IIT Ropar 2025 can access the online application form 2025 from the official website of the University. The application process is the same for all the courses. Firstly, candidates need to submit the IIT Ropar online application for merit-based admissions. Candidates need to apply for the specialization which is relevant to the courses, and the relevant courses IIT Ropar fee structure.

Steps to Apply for Ropar

• Step 1: Go to the official website. 
• Step 2: Enter your email ID and password to create your login and view the form.
• Step 3: You will receive an email from IIT Institute for verification. Please click on the link provided in the mail to validate your account and set your password. 
• Step 4: Log in to the website and follow the link on the left of the main menu to fill out your application form online. 
• Step 5: The relevant documents should be uploaded as required.
• Step 6: After submitting the application form 2025, you will receive an acknowledgment mail on your registered mail-id.
• Step 7: Complete the payment online using credit/ debit card/ net banking. For GEN/ OBC/ EWS category, the fee is INR 200 and for SC/ ST/ PWD, the fee is INR 100.
